I thought I'd share this funny picture with you today whilst I'm busy at work.
Have you done the recent ice bucket challenge?
My husband and boys have but so far I have been lucky.
There have been some real funny ones and great to make us aware of various charities and good causes.
It seems now that, due to water shortages in some countries, it is becoming a sore point when some do not even have good quality drinking water. Or is that just me?
We are lucky in Scotland as rain is a regular occurrence, that being so I saw this which pretty much sums it up.
I can see the issue from both sides. At the end of the day it is all about choice, anything that helps charities increase awareness and hopefully help in raising funds, surely is a good thing? Don't you think?
I shall still be donating to charity, my choice ALS as that is where this whole bucket challenge started. Another freedom of choice matter, you can give to which ever charity is close to your heart.
I have looked like the folk in this picture a couple of times already this week especially after walking the dog.
Enjoy your weekend. x

Boxing clever in sharing an oldie this Friday.
Good morning, a day off for me before working the weekend, time to catch up on everything I didn't get done during the week.
I don't know what is happening with my Thursday posting just now. Another busy day yesterday. A few early morning hiccups trying to book my holidays for work, before heading to work. Then the usual daily chores, kids home, tea and a long wet walk with the dog. My eldest started Spanish lessons last night and the tutor came here, hence the mad dash to make the house look a little presentable!
Finishing the day with a little crocheting and a large B and C.
That was my day gone!
Back to today and it's that time of the week again in which I ask you to share an oldie with me. Don't forget to leave a comment below so I can pop and see your "oldie" too. It's good to share!
Today I don't have a card for you, I have a box. Yes, Patricia and Hazel, this is for you.
Both these lovely ladies make some fabulous boxes.

For this box I have used Spellbinder grand die Hexagon Petal envelope together with Celtic motifs and Decagons. The paper is from Papermania again and card stock plus bling from The Papeterie. The box is made using an envelope die at the top and bottom then surrounding with two strips of card stock which is then covered with paper. Satin ribbon from my stash.
Something a little different for you today.
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the coming weekend. Catch you with some more crafting next week. x

I'm a material girl!
Evening all.
How are you this fine evening, hasn't it been a beautiful day? Far too good to be inside blogging.
I had a good day at work today and am in again for another extra shift tomorrow.
I'm just thinking of that fancy new sewing machine!
Back to today and did you guess what colour I was going to use on my doggy quilt?
I choose the green, which does go really well, it just doesn't appear to in this photograph. It will be bright and cheerful, that's for sure.
After getting home from work I have been catching up on the usual jobs and tea, then I've had a good chat with my family. Where does the day go?!
I hate to be rude but the British Bake off has also just started so I am away to drool at the TV wishing I brought treats home from work earlier.
Enjoy the rest of your "hump" day, catch you late again tomorrow night with some more crafty fun.
Take care and happy crafting. x

What are little boys made of? Snips and snails and puppy-dogs' tails!
Good afternoon and it's another beautifully warm and sunny day here in Scotland.
This morning hubby and I had some jobs planned as he was off work so we have been into Elgin.
A trip to the reclamation yard now has me brimming with ideas, new doors and a new headboard for our room but I have been told to sort the boys rooms out first. Boo. That's no fun 'cause you never know what you might find! Scary.
I also managed to get my fleece for the dogs blanket which is now in the washing machine. I did want turquoise, surprising eh? But they didn't have so it was a toss up between lime green and bright shocking pink. Can you guess what I went for?
Guess you'll have to watch this space!
Back to today's crafty make and this was a bespoke card I made last week for a new arrival.
I know a few of you prefer my "spellbinder" style cards but I am loving this simple style just now. The little pram embellishments I bought on line. I have used Broken china distress ink (my favourite) together with stamp and die cut from Papertrey ink, Framed out, which I have then mat and layered with a couple of scraps.
Less is more! Or so they say.
I am itching to get back to my blanket today but in all the excitement at the sewing shop I didn't pick up matching cotton thread, still I'm in at work tomorrow so will pop back in. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
Talking of sewing machines, would it be wrong of me to drool over this machine? Isn't it lovely in the bright red.
Even better look at what other colour it comes in too....Oh my I think this girl is drooling!
How clever and smart is that?
I think I might have to save up my pennies!
Another new hobby, maybe?
That's all from me today I'm away to crack on with some jobs.
Hubby is preparing crabs in the kitchen which he caught earlier today, you don't get much fresher than that.
I think it might be fish and shellfish for tea tonight.
Enjoy the rest of your Tuesday, work for me tomorrow so I shall probably be posting later in the day.

Creativity comes in many forms.....this one is for the all the boys, big or small and of course all the biker chicks too. Put the pedal to the metal!
Good morning all and a busy weekend was had here. Saturday was a tad manic at work followed by a trip to Aviemore yesterday for the annual Harley Davidson, Thunder in the Glen's rally.
I promised to take a few photos for you all so here goes.
This was the trike that took my fancy, travelling in style don't you think? It even has room for one of the kids to join me on the back too. That's my idea of biking!
On to my hubby's favourite.
All chrome and black with solid wheels. I wouldn't fancy cleaning this one after a ride out.
The airbrushing on these bikes was amazing, all done by hand by a very clever chap. He also had pictures of one that he has done for Remembrance day with pictures of all the War's in black and white on it and with every scene a beautiful red poppy. The artwork was incredible and looked like photographs, truly stunning, even if you don't like bikes you've got to appreciate the art. I would love to be able to airbrush.
It is the attention to detail on the bikes that I love. The back tyre on this bike was huge but look at the kick stand, it's a claw, how fab is that?

The fishtail exhaust pipes on this bike made it look another foot longer.
How do they keep the bikes so clean and shiny, it had been raining Saturday and the bikes were still all gleaming on Sunday.
The boys liked this one and had a wee giggle at it, can you see why?
I took the picture strategically so you probably won't catch it, on the wheel hub there is a topless lady! Boys!
I liked the the box storage on the back it had a beautiful eerie Halloween style setting. Ooooo!
This was the one my mum liked or as the boys call her "biker gran!"
She loves the colour purple and like me prefers the safety of a trike over a bike. I can just see her off to do her shopping on this!
Finally I had to do a double take at this chap, did you know the Preditor was a keen biker?
How cool/scary is this helmet?
Luckily for us he was riding through Aviemore and didn't stop!
You may not be interested in biking as such but I'm sure you'll agree with me that you can't not appreciate the creativity of various bikers in pimping their rides and equipment. Oh and I forgot to mention the sheer noise, the rattle and rumble of a couple of thousand bikes is a sight to behold, you can feel it right through to the bones, so to speak. I love it but I guess I've grown up with a father who loves bikes. My two boys are a little harder to please and I am sure would much rather be plugged in!
Moving on to today and it is beautiful up here in the North of Scotland, the sun is out, the sky is blue and not a cloud to spoil the view!
And what am I away to do.....the ironing! Boo. It needs doing. Still the dog and I had a beautiful walk along the beach this morning so maybe we haven't seen the last of the good weather yet?
Enjoy your Monday and I'll be back again tomorrow with something a little more girlie. x

It's FFFFriday and you know what that means? Come on an share an oldie with me, you know you want to!
Good morning.
I so want to say it in the style of Robin Williams from the film Good Morning Vietnam but it just seems so wrong after he sadly recently took his own life this month. He was such a fabulous actor and made some truly classic films over the years.
Why is it truly gifted and talented folk seem to have a dark side too, depression is such a misunderstood illness. Very sad, it seems to have no boundaries, you could have nothing or everything in the world and still be affected.
As a family we have watched a few of his films over the last couple of weeks, the kids loved Jumanji and I watched Awakenings on my own, which is a good thing, I had a few soggy tissues. A great film but so sad. Mrs Doubtfire and Good Morning Vietnam are other favourites of mine. Such a talent.
How do I move on from that?
I really don't mean to be all doom and gloom today, honest.
The dog and I enjoyed a nice brisk walk this morning along the beach. The sea roaring and no longer looking inviting, more grey and a tad chilly. It is looking very much like Autumn is on it's way. Boo. It was the sort of morning I like to call a waking up walk! Do you know what I mean by that?
Let me explain. I am not the best early on a morning and usually take a couple of hours to get moving. This doesn't mean I don't get up early and crack on with things, it just means that sometimes, the body is moving but the mind is not yet engaged, so to speak!
Hazel I also have my wee one off today not feeling well, so feeling your pain too! He is feeling sick but I haven't had any evidence as yet. Mind you I have it on good authority that a bug is doing the rounds, which seems to be the norm as all the kids go back to school.
On to my crafty oldie to share today, this is in honour of this weekends events in Aviemore, yes it is that time again, Thunder in the Glens. For those of you not aware the Harley Davidson rally at Aviemore runs August bank holiday weekend every year. It is quite a sight watching all the Harley's grumbling through the town and lots going on too. My parents always come up for the rally and we usually meet up at some point with them and their friends. I'm looking forwards to it. Best I take my camera then I can share some pictures next week.
Back to my oldie and this was a birthday card for my Dad made using the Harley papers by EK Success.
Time to dig out your denim and leathers and rock the weekend away, biker style, after work on Saturday of course!
It will be a busy day at work as it is a Dine in weekend with our rotisserie chicken and steak amongst other delightful choices. Nomn, nomn.
It only remains for me to wish you all the best for the coming weekend. I hope you have a good one. Remember if you are joining me on sharing an oldie don't forget to leave me a message so I can pop along to your blog and share the crafty love!
Catch you next week. x

What do you call more than one Golfer?
Evening all!
Back to feeling like I am in the police and bending my knees whilst saying the above, or is that just me?
Did you miss me yesterday?
I bet you didn't.
I had a busy day this end but I knew it would be, by the time I sat down later in the evening I just wanted to relax.
Another busy day at work today but I do have tomorrow off before my early shift on Saturday. Today I wanted to share with you a couple of bespoke cards I made last week for a lady whose twin brothers were turning 65, with the theme golf but both different.
Now you have to use your imagination a little for this. The golf ball is central to the green with the 65 on it. Too cryptic, I hope not. The golf charms are by dress it up buttons and the paper is from my stash. I have used my cricut to cut the age and circles and my Cuttlebug embossing folder dots for the texture.

This card I decided to use scraps to create a map of a golf hole, complete with flag. The club and ball are again dress it up buttons.
I had a wee giggle to myself whilst making this card as the first green went up and over above the writing on the left. When I placed it on the card to add the other embellishments it very much looked like a certain part of the male anatomy!
If I was seeing this, I couldn't send the card, can you imagine the comments?!
I did ask my eldest boy what did he think it was going to be and he said Shrek's w*****!
Back to the drawing board then. That said I do like the idea of a birds eye view of the golf hole and hope the recipient understands my thinking!
It does help to be slightly mad now and again!
Time for me to sign off now, I hope you are all fit and well this Thursday? Not long now and it will soon be the weekend.
Catch you tomorrow to share an oldie too? Why not join me?
Take care and happy crafting. x

Light at the end of the tunnel.
Good evening folks, better late than not at all!
A busy day here, getting both boys to school and then off to work, followed by picking them both up and cracking on with jobs and tea around the home.
I'm quite fancying a nice hot soak now but thought I'd visit you in blogland first. I have a few bespoke cards to share, as they've not yet been picked up, I shall have to wait. Instead I thought I'd share my new lampshade with you.....how exciting is that? Bet you can't wait!
I was thinking of one of my friends Tina when I saw this as I know she loves butterflies. I think I might be getting the drift too.
It is duck egg blue just like my paint and probably the only girlie thing upstairs. I'm rebelling!
It's much prettier in the flesh, so to speak.
I did contemplate adding a little bling, but maybe that would be taking things too far, don't you think?
A short and sweet post from me today, hopefully tomorrow I shall be more organised although Wednesday is usually my busy night with both boys having activities that clash.
I like to call it my mid-week dash!
Happy crafting. x

One day to go! All patched up doggy style.
Good afternoon to you all and how was your weekend?
I had a good and busy day at work Saturday and also did a few hours Sunday morning, followed by a crafty afternoon with my pals. What did I end up making?
It is a work in progress quilt for Holly's basket. I couldn't resist this material when I went to Walmart in Florida but I didn't know what I would make with it. I have now decided to make a couple of blankets for Holly, it would be rude not to with the doggy theme running through the cloth, don't you think?
I am yet undecided on whether to have some fleecy material on the back or a towel like material, decisions, decisions.
Today has been a day getting ready for going back to school tomorrow, not a moment too soon in my mind. My two are bored.com now and driving me crazy, then when you try and get them out and busy they don't want to know....going grey as we speak!
I have most of the uniform and bags at the ready but am still waiting to get Cal's trousers back from my pal who is altering them, my fault, last minute.com as always.
I am also working tomorrow, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday this week. Oooo I'm going to be a tired bunny by Sunday! What a shock to my system and reduced crafting time too. I'm sure I will make up for it soon.
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the rest of your Monday. Catch you again tomorrow probably later in the day.

A little sugar to sweeten the weekend, sharing an oldie this Friday.
Oh whoops again I missed a post yesterday, in my defence I was traumatised. Why I hear you ask?
Our schools go back next week so yesterday was pop out and get the last of the uniform, stationary and shoes. This process I do feel should come with a health warning or at least a stiff drink as you leave the shops. :0
For a start my eldest has gone up at least two full shoe sizes in 6 weeks, I have bought quite a few pairs of shoes for him in that time #bankofmumanddad.
My youngest tried what felt like every pair of shoes in the shop and the only pair that fit corrected were the most expensive! (Takes after his mother!)
Not to mention the bickering and "winding up" all the way round, that is brotherly love. Argh!
I don't think I am alone either in hating this process, so many other families out enjoying the same joys! Lol.
On the up side my hallway is finished and looking very swish for a new lick of paint. I am now just looking for a piece of furniture that I can up cycle for on my landing. I would like a couple of chests or an old 70's style sideboard, low and long, to house my bedding and towels. A visit to the auctions on Wednesday will be a must. I shall know what I want when I see it.
Anyway back to today and it's "Share an oldie Friday!"
Firstly thanks to those of you who have started to join in with the fun. It's great to see other peoples early work so don't forget to leave a message below and link here so that I can return the crafty love.

Today's card is one I created whilst on the Sugar Bowl design team.
I have used the digital image from Sugar Nellie called Summer.
The papers are from My Minds Eye Stella and Rose, Mabel "Little lady" fine flowers.
The dies I have used are Spellbinder Nestabilities Long Classic Scalloped rectangle large and Tim Holtz Tattered Florals.
Ranger Distress ink Tea die and stickles star dust.
Doilies, brads, pearls and bead spacers from stash and image coloured with copics.
I love these digital images as they are so easy to colour already having light and shade on them. Not a usual colour combo for me with the peachy orange and teal but I like it.
I'm in work early tomorrow and I wonder what fun and games we will have this week? I shall have to wait and see. One thing will be sure and that is it will be busy and the day will pass fast.
Then on Sunday I am getting together with some crafty pals for a bit of fun. I don't know what I will be doing as yet, so many projects, so little time. I bought material in the States to make a doggy quilt for Holly, might do that or I have my Smash book and photos at the ready, guess it will depend what mood I am in. I'm also crocheting a few more dishcloths just now. Guess it will be a watch this space as no doubt I will share with you over the coming weeks.
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the coming weekend, whatever your plans. x

Rolling along singing a song!
Afternoon, it's looking dreich out again today so it's a good job I have plans.
I got my paint yesterday and settled on this colour.....mint macaroon. You're surprised aren't you?
It seems to be my colour of choice just now. Love it.
I guess that means that today now my jobs are sorted I shall mostly be rollering and painting on a larger scale.
With that in mind I saw this on Pinterest this morning and it did make me smile so sharing the fun.

Enjoy your hump day, I'm off to the auctions later to see if I can pick up anything exciting to recycle too.

Instead of Spam, spam, spam, how about jam, jam, jam?!
Good afternoon, how are you this Tuesday?
Haven't the storms been dreadful?
Luckily we fared better than most but the road ours leads on to is still shut due to a hole. Scary!
Today I am sharing this.....
It's that time of the year again!
We went fruit picking on Sunday and got rather a lot of raspberries, strawberries, blueberries and peas. Strange combination!
I have frozen some for desserts, baking and smoothies and then made some raspberry jam. It has got to be the easiest jam to make but what a mess it makes when your pan isn't as big as it should be! Whoops.
The recipe should be fruit and sugar in equal quantities plus the juice of a large lemon, boiled till setting temperature (105c). I like to play around with it by reducing the sugar till the jam is quite sharp, 'cause that's the way I like it. Ahar!
It probably won't be everyone's cup of tea but the beauty of making it for the family is to make it how I want to.
My lesson from this years jam session, next year I think I might just have to invest in a proper jam making pan with high sides and therefore the sticky mess will be averted!
My tags are made using SU stamp set Friendship preserves and the matching dies.
I hope you are enjoying your Tuesday, it is a bit dreich here but much better than it was yesterday.
I'm away now to get some paint to finish my hall, the velux window has been refitted properly and the new plasterboard is sanded ready for paint. What colour to go?! MMMMM.
Catch you tomorrow. x

How about a little crafty blog-a-thon.....in my wellies!
It's a continuous hop every Monday with a host of different inspirational bloggers taking part each week.
Elaine and I were on the same design team for Sugar Nellies and although we have never met in person, we have chatted on the telephone and over the internet, becoming great crafty pals. I really admire her work, her cards are amazing. I love how she colours her images, just fabulous dwarling!
Now apparently I have the following questions to answer.....
What am I working on.
I have just bought a lovely selection of wool to make a crochet blanket but am still deciding whether to do a chevron pattern or a hexagon design, decisions, decisions.
How does my work differ from others in my genre?
I don't know whether my work does differ from others but I suppose if we are talking strengths I tend to be able to turn my hand to most things, sometimes with help from my friends. I enjoy trying different crafts and am driven to give things a go especially if it is something I have not tried yet.
I love clean and simple cards at the moment but can layer up with dies and images if required. I tend to keep colourways simple sticking to two or three shades, dependant on what I am working on, card, material or yarn.
Basically I would say I'm a jack of all trades but master of none!
Why do I write/create what I do?
My Mum was very creative, always making clothes, baking, mending etc... I guess she rubbed off on me. The only downside is we live so far apart or we still would be getting together to make now.
As long as I remember I have made things, dolls houses, furniture and clothes, cards and gifts whilst young.
When I was in the armed forces I used to cross stitch or whip up a tapestry when on duty during quiet spells, it kept you awake on nights!
Then when I had the children and gave up full time work it was something to earn a few pennies whilst at home, and keep me sane.
I really have progressed from there especially enjoyed demonstrating for PI and sharing my love of crafting with other local crafters.
Basically I like to keep my hands busy and my mind occupied, plus it beats housework hands down!
How does your creative process work?
Oh, now that would be telling! ;)
Sometimes it just comes to me, I have an idea and want to play around with it. It never usually works as I pictured in my head but I guess that is the fun of crafting. I have lost count of the times I have started something with a clear idea of what I want and throughout the process it has changed beyond recognition. That is the beauty of crafting, so many possible combinations and not enough time in the day to play!
I find starting with the key material, usually the colour combo and work from that point, matching materials as best I can as the process developes. I like watching out for trends but then giving it my own twist.
I also love Pinterest, a great site for inspiration.
Now it's my turn to pick 3 bloggers to answer the questions.
In alphabetical order:
Beckie is a Freelance craft designer and I first met her at a Rusty Pickle event years ago down in Edinburgh. (If my brain serves me right!)
She is a lovely lady and creates perfect scrapbooking pages always.
I have enjoyed one of her classes when she visited our local craft shop a few years back which I thoroughly enjoyed plus I have enjoyed an online class via UK Scrappers.
When it comes to scrapbooking, Beckie is your girl!
Lau is next on my list, she designs for numerous different craft companies with regards to card making.
Lau lives in France and it just goes to show what a small world it is when it comes to blogging.
We have regular contact through our blogs and work, luckily for me, her English is far better than my French!
Lau creates fabulous layered cards with beautifully coloured images.
Patricia and I have become good blogging friends over the last year. She also teaches card classes and enjoys making lots of different crafts. I love her use of die cuts and have to say she makes a mean flower!
Seriously, go see if you don't believe me. Her latest post is just stunning, but don't take my word for it.
That's all from my blog-a-thon today folks I hope you have enjoyed all my answers.
We had a really bad storm last night and things are not looking great if it continues to rain.
Sandbags at the ready!
Our garden has a natural pool in it just now and the garage is leaking.
The shed at the moment is just managing to stay above the water.
The problem not only seems to be the volume of water that came down last night but one of the drains next to our neighbours house has collapsed, road closed and the waterboard sorting as we speak. Hopefully we will have running water in the house before the end of the day, via the taps and not the doors, or it will be washing alfresco tonight, brrrr!
Oh the joys! As the saying goes, it never rains but it pours!
On the upside the recent repairs to the roof have kept the house dry.
I hope you are managing to stay dry where you are, a perfect day to maybe start cleaning my craft room.
Scary!
Maybe just the floor would be a starting point!

BFF.
This time last week I was helping my pal with a little decorating. She popped in to see me on Thursday and brought this with her for my office.
It did make me smile. Thanks Gill and can't wait to get it on the wall in my craft room.
She said she couldn't resist!
I don't fancy the old and senile part but looking forwards to the new!
Have a super Sunday, whatever you are doing.

What we really mean?!
I saw this on trending on Facebook last week and it really made me smile. Which one do you use?
30 things the British say but really mean...
1. "I might join you later" - Means I'm not leaving the house today unless it's on fire.
2. "Excuse me, sorry, is anyone sitting here?" - You have three seconds to move your bag.
3. "Not to worry" - I will never forget this.
4. Saying sorry as a way to introduce yourself.
5. "Bit wet out there" - You're going to need a snorkel as it's absolutely pishing down.
6. Ending an email with "Thanks" as a warning that you are very close to losing your temper.
7. "Right then, I suppose I really should start thinking about making a move! - Time to go, bye.
8. "It's fine" - It really couldn't get any worse.
9. "Perfect" - That is ruined then.
10. "A bit of a pickle" - A really bad situation with fatal consequences.
11. "Not too bad, actually" - I'm the happiest I've ever been.
12. "Honestly, it doesn't matter" - Nothing has mattered more.
13. "You've caught the sun" - You look like you've been swimming in a volcano.
14. "That's certainly one way of looking at it" - That is the wrong way of looking at it.
15. "I have a 5p if that helps"- and never being quite sure if it helps.
16. "If you say so" - I'm afraid what you are saying is rubbish.
17. "With all due respect" - You have no idea what you are talking about.
18. Saying "your welcome" as quietly as possible to people who don't say thank you.
19. Meanings of "I beg your pardon" 1. I didn't hear you. 2. I apologise. 3. What you are saying is making me absolutely livid.
20. "It could be worse" - It couldn't possibly get any worse.
21. "Each to their own" - You're wrong but never mind.
22. "Pop round anytime" - Please stay away.
23. "I'm popping out for lunch, does anyone want anything? - I'm getting my own lunch, please remain silent.
24. Saying "I might get some cash out actually", despite approaching the cash machine and being 100% sure of getting some.
25. "No, honestly, my fault" - It was your fault and we both know it.
26. "No yeah that's very interesting" - You are boring me to death.
27. "Just when I get a minute" - Now. (Or in my case never!)
28. "No harm done" - You have caused complete chaos.
29. "I'm sure it'll be fine" - I fully expect it won't be.
30. "Sorry I think you might have dropped something" - You have definitely dropped a specific item.
I personally like to use number 3 and 9 and occasionally numbers 12 and 17. Finally living in Scotland number 5 has to be my favourite.
Do you have a favourite?
Enjoy your Saturday. x

Sharing an oldie this Friday. Crafty style of course!
Good afternoon and how are you this Friday? I had to make a quick trip out this morning, hence the later post, messages and jobs done for today, now on to a couple of bespoke cards.
Another missed post yesterday, which seems to becoming a trend.
It was another beautiful day and after getting the jobs sorted in the morning we went to the beach with the dogs in the afternoon. We didn't stay as long as we would have liked as the heavens opened, the boys and dogs weren't that bothered as they were already wet but I got soaked. The joys!
Back to today and this is the oldie I have decided to share with you today.

Back to today and this is the oldie I have decided to share with you today.
For this card I have used:
Martha Stewart PATP Vintage lace.
Hero arts Clings stamp Silhouette flower and Treasure the moments.
Zva creative bling in a wheel black.
Plain white cardstock and American craft textured card black.
StazOn black ink.
If you are joining me in sharing an oldie don't forget to leave a message below so I can visit you and see which past work you have picked. #sharingthecraftinglove.
I seem to have "a thing" just now for black and white cards, I love the simplicity of this Hero arts stamp and the contrast between the two colours.
I'm at work early again tomorrow and have no plans as yet for Sunday. I wonder what we will be getting up to?
Enjoy your weekend. x

My new niffy tool is the cherry on the cake.
As we have had rain showers today my ironing is all done and dusted.
If it wasn't for band practice tonight I might have even started some crafting!
Now some might find this a little sad but I bought a super wee tool from Lakeland Plastics in Inverness earlier in the week.
At the time hubby looked at me with a quizzical face asking why, but he never prepares this fruit and doesn't understand the joy it brings. Both my boys think it is fab and have had great fun playing with it.
The picture sort of gives it away with the fruit in full view.
It's a cherry stoner!
Why have I not bought one before now?
I love fresh cherries and hate stoning them or having to retrieve the stone whilst eating them. This handy little tool pops the stone out the bottom, job done, leaving a practically whole cherry.
I love it. Now if only cherries were a little cheaper!
You've got to love a good gadget that does exactly what it says it will with minimum fuss and cleaning.
As to the yarn I showed you yesterday I am thinking of trying a blanket for the winter months. I only need to find a pattern or design I would like to try.
I'm afraid that is all from me today. The summer holidays really do put a dampener on crafty inspiration with the constant droning of "Mum!" LOL.
You've just got to love them!
More from me tomorrow. x

Do you love where you live? I'd be bonkers not too. Don't believe me?.....take a wee lookie.
In my defence it was another fabulous sunny day here today, so you can guess the next comment, the boys and I got out and about. In the morning we did some shopping. I was delighted to pick up my new glasses....I can see, I can see, although it does feel a little weird going in and out of focus as I move my head. I'm sure I will get used to it.
I also was very naughty and popped to the Monsoon sale, the less said about that the better but with the boys with me I just didn't have time to choose! Cough! Wink, wink, if you know what I mean!
Moving swiftly on. As the afternoon was so beautiful we took ours and my pals dog out for a walk, rucksack packed with drinks and snacks for both the two and four legged varieties we set off, our mission to reach the green pool!
We walked passed the beach, stopping for a wee dook in the sea, well it was a warm day and it would be rude not to.
The beach was busier than usual today because of the weather, want a wee lookie?
And the hutties, which are like gold dust, you can't get one for love or money and apparently the waiting list is long.
It's a shame the people who are lucky enough to have them don't always use them as plenty of other local folk would love the opportunity.
After our dip we headed along the shore to the next couple of bays and found lots of these.
I don't know if there is an official name for these statues but they pop up all along the coastline especially on the stone beaches. Last year we saw one that was taller than my youngest boy so some folk must have oodles of patience.
Finally we made it to what my boys call the green pool.
As you can see from this photograph, the rock formation almost creates a natural pool to swim in especially if the tides are not high at a suitable time for dooking in the harbour. You can also see how packed it is, we were the only people about, our own personal and natural sea pool!
The dogs and kids alike enjoyed a dip followed by light refreshments. Around the next bay there was some folk wild camping by the caves, another thing my boys would like to do. I personally think this is a Dad trip but on a nice night I think it would be quite special. Here are the caves.
When we get the beautiful weather we have had this year, why would you need to go anywhere else?
So yes in answer to my own question, I do love where I live. Ask me again in the winter when the snow is on the ground and it's -9, then I might change my answer as I really do not like being cold.
As for crafting, why would you when you've got this to enjoy?!
But I did promise to share my purchases from yesterdays craft shop visit. Did you guess correctly.

And the race is on!
Good evening all, another late post from me today. I'm getting later and later but it is just too nice out to be sat in on the computer.
Did you have a good weekend?
I had an eventful day at work Saturday and just couldn't get on top of things, but then some days are just like that and all you can do is your best and hand over to the later shift.
Yesterday I popped over to my BFF's house and helped her with decorating her playroom, we had lots of fun together and put the world to rights at the same time. I do enjoy painting.
On the afternoon it was the raft race at Lossiemouth, my eldest was working but we took my youngest over for a wee lookie and an ice-cream. It was very busy!
I thought I would share a few photographs. The race starts at the bridge that you cross to the sands, it heads along the river as if out to sea before turning around a buoy and heading back to the start.
This first raft won the race....bunch of pirates!
They were so far in the lead but as they came around the buoy and back amongst the other rafts, a bit of sabotage was going on! This is usually the throwing of water bombs, flour and rotten eggs to name but a few weapons, all in good fun of course!
This raft was a little bananas!
Some didn't make it to the buoy and abandoned ship, choosing to swim around pushing the raft. That must of been harder but in their defence, they were swimming and paddling against the tide at this point and going nowhere.
A couple jumped ship altogether and just enjoyed a swim instead!
Now for the bigger picture, can you see all the folk watching, it was heaving!
Ever felt that sinking feeling?! Abandon ship!
Nope lets just keep going and see how far we can get.
Now it was time to head back with the tide after finding the buoy.
All hands on deck as Santa offers a helping hand.
Dur dum, dur dum....it's JAWS! (The tannoy system even played the music!)
Now finally to my favourite raft, and yes, you can have a favourite.
It's the Smurfs! Great costumes and raft.
All in all I think everyone had good fun. There were plenty of stalls and the fairground to entertain.
This is an annual event and is always lots of fun to watch and participate in. I haven't personally but my other half did many years ago, they had cannons on their raft, attacking the rest!
Back to today and hubby and I had a day out in Inverness collecting a few bits and bobs to finish off rooms we've decorated. I also managed to do a little girlie shopping and of course it would be rude not to craft shop too. Can you guess what I bought this time?
I'll share with you tomorrow.
I'm away now to pop and see my pal and maybe get in a little more painting. Catch you tomorrow. x

Share an oldie Friday....tag you're it!
Good afternoon and thank you for joining me on share an oldie Friday. A late start again for me today after a lazy morning. No post yesterday I had a long overdue appointment with the hairdressers, colour, highlights and cut and then another overdue appointment with my ironing, not quite as enjoyable. Then we went out for tea as a family and to the cinema to watch Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. You can see a clip below.
What a film!
I can thoroughly recommend it if you haven't yet made the trip to the cinema.
Warning deep comment.....the film reiterates the damage that, as a human race, we constantly inflict on the planet, other animals and the possible outcome!
My eldest wasn't so keen as he is an animal lover, in his words...."the humans deserve the outcome but the animals don't!"
That explains briefly why you didn't get a post from me yesterday.
Back to today and it's a case of Tag you're it.
I have used Distress inks Seedless preserve, Milled lavender, Peeled paint, Pine needles, Crushed olive and Walnut stain. The stamps are Marion Emberson Butterfly kisses and Hero arts Anytime messages.
The little butterflies are the leftovers from the Martha Stewart edger punch Pop up Butterfly. The bling and seam binding (Coloured with Crushed olive and Peeled paint) are from my stash.
If you'd like to join me sharing an oldie this Friday leave me a comment below as I would love to come and see your work too.
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the weekend.
I was planning a trip to Inverness today but I guess now it will be housework and then hopefully a little craft time later. I'm back to work as normal tomorrow with a real early start then on Sunday it is the annual raft race in the next village, which is always a fun day out.
