Yaah it's the weekend, crafting smiles time.

Hi all, it's Saturday again and it's crafting funny time.
A friend of mine had this youtube video on Facebook and it really made me laugh so I just had to share.  Just incase it doesn't work here is the link too.

It made me smile.
Oh to have that many mason jars!  Heaven in a jar!

Feeling a little topical this week I also found this beauty.

After Madonna's cape catastrophe last week at the Brits I just had to share this one.
Maybe wearing a cape to craft is the answer, do you think it will give me super powers?!
Anything is worth a go right?

Did you watch the GBSB this week and the kilt making?
I have favoured Neil's work since the start of this seasons GBSB, but this was just beyond brilliant.

I wish I could make a kilt like that, sheer perfection and a little kilt envy going on here.
This seasons show has been the best yet and yes it does make you want to dust down your sewing machine and get making.

It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for this weekend,  No work for me, yippee!
Have a good one and I'll be back to catch up with you on Monday.  x

Friday, February 27, 2015

It's Friday again, already! You know what that means, dig out your old crafty projects to share.

Good morning all, it's Friday and time to share an old crafty project that you have made.
Today is all about sharing the love of crafting just for fun, do feel free to join in with me, all I ask is that you leave me a short message below, then I can pop along to your blog and check out your crafty project too.  I will visit you all.

Today I have another card for you and a little different from the normal.

For this card I have used Stormy sky distress ink for the sky, masking for the clouds.
Marion Emberson stamps by PI sets Birds and trees plus Build a tree and the sentiment is from Find joy in everyday.
Distress inks Peeled paint and Crushed olive created the tree and grass.  The frame was cut and 3d foamed over the image and a Spellbinder shapeabilities fancy tag.
I like building up these sort of cards, creating scenes, it has been a while but I do enjoy them.

I have a day off work tomorrow and it's my Anniversary this weekend.  We have plans!
I will share with you what I'm upto next week!
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the coming weekend, have a good one and I hope you find some time to craft.  x

Hook, line and sinker, plodding on!

Good evening all, how are you this evening?
You know when you have one of those days when you don't appear to get anywhere?
My day today!

After my morning walk I had a trip to the hairdressers for a wee tidy and colour, all human again now.  Home for some lunch and a couple of jobs before the boys got home.  I then seem to have lost all track of time.
I decided to get a recently purchased die out by Sue Wilson for Creative Expressions, New York, Madison square to be precise.
I've tried cutting it lots of ways with no success at all, not impressed.  Anyone else had problems with these dies?
I have repositioned it , repeated it, used wax paper, a shim, etc...etc....  Basically every trick in the book.  There was my crafty time gone!
On the upside it cut lovely in wax paper.
Maybe I just have a duff one?
Needless to say, I am a tad disappointed.

On the crocheting front things are coming along.  My blanket maybe a long time coming but the hexagons are stacking up slowly.

I don't think I'll be able to wait until I've done all 196 before sewing them together.  Maybe stitching together in sections is the way to go?

I hope you have had a super Thursday and more of a productive day than me.  (Not hard!)
I'm away to put on the tea, catch you again tomorrow sharing an oldie.  x

More nomm, nomn's, well it is GBB night!

Good evening all and how the devil are you?
My sniffles are still with me, you know when your nose isn't playing when you steam yourself with eucalyptus oil and you get no reaction!  (When normally you are left gasping for air.)
Oh the joys, but as I said in a previous post, "It could have been worse!"
This is the book I was telling you about.

It's a lovely story, where the mouse always sees the brighter side of life and how bad things could have been.

Back to today, have you had a good day?
I had another busy day, I like being busy.
Dine in starts again today so lots of yummy offers in for the coming weekend.  I had my choice of dine for tea tonight as eating has to be quick on a Wednesday, drumming night again.  Nomm.
As I've been in work I've no crafting again tonight to show you.  It does interfere with my crafting!
Mind you I did enjoy helping one of our managers today setting up an Easter display, right up my street.  Bring on the bunnies!

At the moment I am on the quest to create the perfect cookie.  Don't ask me why, 'cause I don't know.  More baking after work, this time chocolate chip and pecan.  I found the earlier ones a little sweet as they have sugar, syrup and chocolate in so I am playing around with quantities.  The timing also seems to be very different in my oven, I use stoneware which I find always takes slightly longer to cook.
My judges were very complimentary this evening.  I wonder if they'll last more than a day this time?

Only time will tell.
I prefer them as they're not too sweet.  When I get the recipe fine tuned I will share with you.

Back to yesterday's doll, I did manage to get hold of my mum later in the evening and she did put me right.  The doll is in fact 40 this year, she is ageing well!
Apparently mum bought it for me at a school fair when I was in the infants.  Bless.
She didn't know who had made her, such a shame.

That's all from me tonight, I'm away to get a little man to do some homework, wish me luck.
Then maybe if I'm lucky I might get another couple of crochet squares done.
Enjoy the rest of your hump day.  x

You shall go to the ball, a blast from the past! Crafty style of course.

Good evening, how are you this Tuesday?
Am I the only one disappointed with last nights final episode of Broadchurch?  Boo, hiss, now we have to wait for a new series, a cliff hanger in every sense of the word!

Patricia I do agree with you regarding yesterday's card, I do believe not many folk will know who a "Lossie loon and Broch Quine" are.  Loon and quine are local terms for boys and girls up here in the North of Scotland.  I for one, with two boys think loon is a great description, where I come from however, it has a whole other meaning!
Lossie is short for Lossiemouth, the next village east of us and Broch is used locally for someone who comes from Burghead, the next village west of us.
Now you know.

As for the cookies, I came home from work today hoping for a quick cup of tea and biscuit before getting the boys.  As Kylie would say, "I should be so lucky!"
The biscuit barrel was empty.  So much for baking cookies.
Gannets the lot of them!
Why do we bother?!*

Back to today, as I've been beavering away at work I have nothing I have made to show you but then I started to tidy the floor of my craft room and found this in a box.  I thought you might like to see it.
It is handmade, just not by me.

Last time my parents visited they brought with them quite a few items of mine from my childhood.
They had been clearing out the loft, I did tell mum to let my nieces have any of my toys that she found.  She however, decided that as I'd kept them so lovely that I should really keep a couple of my dolls.
This was one of them.
You don't see many of these dolls now but it is a topsy-turvy doll, one end is cinders crying as she can't go to the ball in her rags, the other end is Cinderella in her ball dress and finery "She shall go to the ball!"
She also has a hand written note on her arm......

I do remember "looking after her" very well and not really playing much with her, as you can see she is in perfect condition.  I only wish she had been signed and dated, on the tag, so I know who made her and when.  My brain hurts from trying to work out how old she is, I reckon that she must be about 38 years old, yikes!
She is wearing better than I am!
I must try and find out if my mum can remember anything at all about her, I'll let you know if I hear anything interesting.

That's all from me for today again, tea is just about ready and then hopefully I might get chance for a little more crocheting later.  Have a good evening and stay warm, it's chilly out there tonight.  x

Making cookies and cards, what better way to spend the day?

Good evening all, and how are you this Monday?
I seem to have caught a tickle in my throat over the weekend, which is nice.
The boys used to have a book when younger about a little mouse who kept getting himself into scrapes each time he says "well it could have been worse!"  Have you read it?
It's a lovely book, and the reason behind me telling you this?  Whilst telling you about my tickle I am thinking of that little mouse saying "it could have been worse!"

Today I had a couple of messages to do first thing and then the man mountain, that is my ironing pile.
I did however manage a little craft, firstly I made some chocolate chip cookies, the boys favourites.
Admittedly because there are no biscuits in the house!
Bought ones just seem to last so much longer than homemade ones.  :0

Mmmm cookies!
Nearly as mmmmm as cake!
I can hear the scales groaning.

I also managed this card for a friend who wanted an engagement card for a local couple planning on tying the knot.

I'm getting really bad at simple lined cards now.  Less is definitely more in my world as I am sticking very much to this minimal approach.  It's not the best photograph sorry but the lighting hasn't been great today and I'd already packaged it before remembering to record it.
Having that Monday feeling!

I'm working tomorrow and Wednesday so probably another couple of late posts from me.  It only remains for me to wish you all the best for this Monday evening.
I'm looking forwards to the final instalment of Broadchurch tonight......I wonder whodunit?!*
Do you know?

It's Saturday and time to lighten the mood, how about a few crafty funnies?x

Good morning to you and happy Saturday.
I'm on another early shift today and I just know it's going to be a good one, NOT!
So with that in mind I thought I'd lighten the mood with some crafty funny quotes I found this week.
This made me smile, you know nothing of the dark arts!
Expelliarmus!
Now wouldn't that be useful, it would be a mighty fine and quick way to tidy my craft room.

Thinking dark arts and then moving onto this stamp.  Well I don't really need to add anymore other than it just goes to prove that arts and crafts can go to the dark side, at any moment, gulp!

You see that doll I have been making!  LOL.  It's not quite ready yet but I have you in mind!  ;)

I thought I should finish on a lighter note and this one from Marilyn Monroe is just perfect.
Get out your glitter this weekend ladies and gentlemen and twinkle!
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best over the weekend, twinkle to your hearts content!

It's that time again, sharing an oldie this Friday, crafty style of course!

It's Friday and you know what that means, time to share the love of crafting with me.  Every Friday we share an old project, just for fun, it can be anything at all that you have made, as the saying goes, "the more the merrier!"
All I ask if for you to leave a comment below so that I can then visit your blog and see which old project you have decided to share with everyone.  Simples!

Today's project is a card.

For this card I have used:
American craft textured white card plus Idea-ology Vintage shabby.
Spellbinder nestabilities square and Fleur de lis square.
Also from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology range fragments.
Stamp by Andy Skinner Gothic range.
Bling from Zva Creative.

I love the simplicity of this card first cutting out the square with the nestie then just embossing straight on to the card with the Fleur de lis die. I have stamped on the front of Tim's fragment and added paper to the back before adding it to the card.

Another day in work today and then again tomorroq with an early start.  At the moment I have no plans for Sunday but lets hope I get in some crafting time.
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the coming weekend, have a good one.  x

Throwing back Thursday challenge with Bibiana.

Good afternoon all, today after a busy day at work I am joining the lovely Bibiana's Throw back Thursday challenge #6.  It is very similar to my sharing an oldie tomorrow with added benefits!
Today I am sharing this card....

I have used:
Sugar Nellie stamp Ella's umbrella.
Paper by Doodlebug and brown Kraft.
Cuttlebug embossing folder small flowers.
Sentiment from The Cutting Cafe.
Spellbinder die Grand scalloped square.
Buttons and ribbon from stash.
Stickles diamond.
Copic pens to colour.
Stitched on my machine.

You too can join Bibiana as the challenge is open till the 11th of March.  Why not pop over and have a look, this months challenge is to include the colour green.

I hope you are all well this Thursday?
I've got a couple of cards to make tonight and a little crocheting to do.  I think I better start with tea first mind.  Enjoy the rest of the evening and don't forget to join me tomorrow with sharing an oldie too.
It only remains for me to say one thing tonight.....who killed Lucy!  All will be revealed later.

It seems only fitting as it is now the evening to show you this......

Good evening, and can I just ask where the day has gone?
My day started like this and hasn't really got better, I haven't done anything different today but the day just seems to have flown.
At work this morning we played catch up and it continued for the rest of the day.  I popped to the mart to see if there was anything interesting in this weeks sale after work, not for me today.  I had a lovely chat with a good friend who I haven't seen for ages and then it was into my usual night routine of getting tea.

Due to my late post I thought it only right to show you the evening invitation to coordinate with yesterdays Wedding card.  It is again cream and purple, with a little different embossing and LIS bling this time.

Oh I do like these little bling hearts, don't you?  Just perfect for Weddings or Anniversaries.

Did you have your pancakes yesterday?
Mine enjoyed them so much I was asked to do them again tonight, I'm fit to bursting, well, they have to be taste tested!
What is your favourite filling?
I'm afraid I'm a traditionalist when it comes to my pancakes, lemon and sugar all the way.

My Mum bought me this electric pancake maker and it makes the biggest pancakes.  :0
The kids love them.  Why wouldn't they?  We had all manner of filling but lemon and sugar still came out top.
I always say at this time of year, I must use this machine more often, it is then washed down and put away till next year.  Such a shame.  Maybe this year we'll get it out again?
It's such an easy pudding to do for kids.

Anyway folks that's all from me tonight, I think a cup of coffee and Eastenders is calling, who did kill Lucy?!**
Catch you again later tomorrow.  x

Sparkle and shine on your Wedding day.

Good afternoon all.  Another beautiful morning here and a lovely beach walk earlier with me thinking how lucky I am to have the sea on my doorstep.  (It is a different kettle of fish on a cold wet day!)
My wee man was all snotty again today so another day off for him.  It seems to be constant just now, one thing after another.  He'll be back tomorrow mind, as I am working the rest of the week.
My eldest has an appointment at the surgery today with the nurse to have his stitches in his hand remove, all looking good on that front as it is healing lovely.  Now just to keep it clean and dry for a bit longer.

Most of my jobs are done and dusted today except for my uniform and tea so hopefully later I might get some crafting done.  I really am having withdrawal effects just now with all the extra hours I've been doing at work and orders to complete, but I'm sure I'll get there soon.  I just find by the time I have everything sorted on an evening, the combination of dark nights and the cold has me collapsing in front of the fire, all cosy with my crocheting.  I have noticed however that the nights are starting to get longer and it is staying lighter till a little later.  I love the run into Spring, the lighter nights, the appearance of all the bulbs in the garden and the promise of better weather ahead.  Can't wait.

Today I thought I'd share the Wedding Day invites that I recently made.  The bride to be loved them so I was happy with that.  My request was CAS with a colour combo of cream and purple.  Oh and it had to have bling!

As the phrase goes, "It does exactly what it says on the tin."  The purple is a lovely deep purple, think cadbury's chocolate purple.

Back to crafting and I'm sure if you are a keen crafter that you will know that the big trade craft event is on this weekend down in Birmingham or as it is know the CHSI spring show.
I have been down a couple of years to meet up with the staff at Personal Impressions and other crafters I have met over the years.
It's always the place to be for all the latest gossip, not necessarily crafty!  Wink, wink, nod, nod.
It is also where a lot of this seasons new trends are launched in this country, giving you an idea of what is hot and what is not in the industry for the coming year.
All the big names in the country will be there touting their business.
I miss my wee jaunt down to the show if only to catch up with fellow crafters and friends, green gills just now!
I'm sure they're all working hard but also having fun too.

Well I think that all from me today, it only remains for me to wish you all the best for the rest of the day, I'm off to get the tea sorted and then it's PANCAKE time!
Enjoy.  x

Half term holidays, time for fun and games.

Good afternoon to you all.  The weather was lovely this morning and the dog and I had a lovely walk along the beach, now it has totally changed and it is pouring down.  So what to do with the boys?
The cupboards are void of biscuits and treats, rather than pop to the shops we've had a wee baking session.  I recently got a brownie tin from Pampered chef and although I've tried brownies in it a couple of times, I am yet to find the perfect recipe with the right consistency.
Today I had a bit of a brainwave and decided to use my muffin recipe in the tin instead, it's slightly less fattening and I made them lactose free for a change, you can't taste the difference!

There was 12 but it would have been rude not to taste them!
They are much lighter than a brownie and I think I prefer them, you could also dress them up with some chocolate butter icing or have them as a pud warmed with ice-cream.
There's no wonder I put weight on!
I so need to get back on plan but it's really no fun whatsoever.  ;)

My BFF also makes the best shortbread ever, I have tried rounds a couple of times so today I thought I'd give fingers a go.

They're getting better but still not up to Gill's standard, I'm sure she uses a secret ingredient!  ;)
The boys like them anyway and as we have no other biscuits in the house, they'll do.

How was your weekend?
After hubby telling me that we weren't doing Valentine's day, I was very surprised to get anything on Saturday.  We had our dine in meal but I also got some flowers, rum, a nighty, chocolate and my favourite, hand warmers!
Didn't I do well?
Bet you are wondering why I loved the hand warmers so much?
At work we have to occasionally work in the freezer, brrrr, we do have all the gear to keep warm but for some reason your fingers always feel it more over a period of time.  Now all I have to do is keep my warmers at work and I can pop them inside my gloves, hay presto warm hands.
I'm now looking forwards to my next chilly visit!
Ssshhh, you need to keep it quiet mind or everyone will want to use them.  ;)
You'll be pleased to also note that I didn't take hubby at his word and got him something too, good job really!

My eldest has had a fun packed weekend having gone paint balling on Saturday with his mates and then he had a surfing lesson on our beach yesterday.  Brrr!
It took a wee while to get the feeling back into his fingers and toes once he came home after 2 hours in the North sea, a hot bath and hot chocolate soon brought him around.  The waves apparently were great and he was having far too much fun to come out.

My youngest exchanged gifts with his girlfriend on Saturday and got a lovely Homemade Valentine's card and present too.  He also made a card with a little help.  I thought I'd taken a photograph to show you but I can't find it on my SD card, most strange.  He was introduced to the world of copic markers, it was very hard to let him use my bestest pens but I got over it.  He actually did a super job, first time using blending pens and I am just gutted I don't have a picture to share.
He was out playing most of the weekend but woke with a hacking cough this morning, why don't they listen to Mum and wrap up when they go out?  Will they ever learn?  He is now "calpoled" up in the hope he feels much better for school tomorrow.

I'm away to crack on with a little more ironing, it is never ending in this house.
Enjoy the rest of you Monday, happy crafting.  x
To all my crafty pals down in Birmingham this weekend for the show, I hope you are all having a ball, I would have loved to be there with you too.

Saturday, February 14, 2015

It's Saturday again, time for some crafting funnies.

Good morning and Happy Valentine's day to you all.  No mushy stuff here for you today just more crafting funnies to make you smile this weekend.
Now you all know how I keep saying I run a tidy ship in my craft room, not!
Here's another excuse to keep my clutter for another week.....

I don't think hubby believes me.  Shame.
We'll if not, how about this one?

In our home we love the film Taken, Liam Neelson, mmmm, the voice!
This quote made me really smile as it is so true, but with kids it is usually my metal ruler, scissors or erasers that walk.

Finally it is always good to have a plan.  As you know I am a bit of a fan of Pinterest, so if the money does roll in one day, I shall have plenty of ideas to keep me busy.

I shall look forwards to it.

Have a super weekend, whatever you have planned.  More from me next week.  x

Tagging you with love, Tim Holtz style, sharing an oldie this Friday.

Good morning, sorry another missed post yesterday.  I had a busy day at work and then another trip to the dentist with my eldest boy for his last few adjustments to his braces.  I think he is looking forwards to having it removed next month.
I don't know where the rest of the day went!

Back to today and it's FFFFfriday again, is it me or do the weeks just fly by?
Time to share an oldie with me for fun, I'd love it if you'd join in.  Don't forget to leave me a comment so I can see your oldies too, sharing the love of crafting.

Today I wanted to share something appropriate to the time of year.  Now I don't do all this mushy lovey dovey stuff, this tag is as good as I get.

I'd love to join in more with Tim Holtz monthly tag challenge, but I never seem to get the spare time.
This is one of my early attempts at a February tag.
Every month I check out his challenge and think I must have a go and then whoosh, the next one is up.  Time flies when you are having fun!

For this tag I have used Distress stains Festive berries and Fired brick with Distress ink Black soot.  The Toy soldier is from the Christmas Blueprint selection of stamps and coloured with Distress pens.  I have used Grey Coredinations paper with Spellbinder embossing plate "Trendy".  The embellishments are all from my stash and tissue tape has been used for the ribbon.

My boys are off today, half term long weekend and hubby is home too.
I wonder what we will be getting up to?
I do have one plan, a hot stone massage later this morning, a Christmas treat, mmmm, can't wait.

It only remains for me to wish you all the best for the coming Valentine's weekend, have a good one.
Apparently my youngest has a mention in the local shop window from a secret admirer, bless, young love!  So sweet.

I have an early start at work tomorrow and with the special dine in I guess it will be a busy day.

It's not just any old food!

Good evening, another late post for me today.
A busy day at work, then the first of our evenings drumming lessons this evening before starting on the tea.
Talking about food, I don't very often "big" up the products at work on here but our Valentine's dine in this weekend is fab.

Nomm, nomm.
The dine in is different to the norm with a Valentine's theme.  For £20 you get a starter, main, side, dessert, chocolates and either a choice of wine, cava or none alcoholic juice.
Look at the choices here.
It is on from today till we run out, don't leave it till Saturday, the earlier you get it the more choice you will get.
I was looking at all the options today thinking, mmmmmm, do you think it would be very naughty to have a couple?!
So many lovely choices.  :)

No crafting again today for me, I've had a bit of a sore head after all the fun and games on Monday night.  I should really crack on with some ironing tonight but I might just chill out instead.
Have a super evening and more from me again tomorrow.  x

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

A bit of a whoopsie but it could have been so much worse.

Good evening all, a late post from me today.  A busy day at work followed by parents evening at school for my eldest and then tea out.
I've just sat down with a cuppa!
No time to craft although I might get in a little crocheting before bedtime.

It was drama central here last night.  My eldest came in the house from chopping kindling saying "Mum I've had a accident!"

Ouch.  It was deep so it was off to hospital to get some stitches.
Usually the staff at our local hospital are brilliant but we were let down last night by the receptionist.
She took our details and told us we might have quite a wait.  Two hours later and another member of staff, all other patients having been seen, I checked again, we'd been discharged even though we hadn't been seen!
Once brought to their attention the medical staff were brilliant and my eldest boy was very brave throughout.  Lots of apologetic staff, even though they weren't in the wrong, four hours later and we were on our way home.  What an adventure, I'm sure my eldest won't ever want to repeat!
Stitches, local anaesthetic and then a tetanus, all new to him.
He had pain relief this morning and he went to school all day, no more required as he's feeling much better.
Why don't we bounce back that quick?

He got a really good report at school too, on track to get the results he needs to do the degree course he wants to do.  Now just to keep up the momentum.
Proud mum moment!

My cup of tea is calling, now do I chill out watching TV or get my hook and yarn out?
Have a good evening and hopefully I will catch up with you again tomorrow.  x

Monday, February 09, 2015

Monday, Monday, hook, yarn and smelling of roses!

Good afternoon all, how are you this Monday?
I am working the rest of the week so today has involved me getting on top of the housework, all the boring stuff out of the way as soon as I can!
The dog and I had a lovely walk too, there was definitely a spring feel in the air, not too cold and the sun was shining.  It was a lovely start to the day.

How was your weekend?
I was only working till lunch time on Saturday so enjoyed eats out with the family at Findhorn Piers cafe which is inside Findhorn Yacht club.  The food was lovely and great views out over Findhorn bay.
Then I had a lazy afternoon crocheting and watching the rugby.

On Sunday we had a lovely big roast dinner and quite a lazy day again with a little more crocheting on my blanket.  I should really have done my ironing but I was very naughty and crocheted instead, well it was Sunday!

Remember the rose I showed you together with the link earlier last week?
The lovely Samantha has made that one, here is my first attempt.

At this point I hadn't finished it off but you get the general idea, I think it will make a nice broach once finished or maybe a hair slide?
This was the only playing, sorry crafting I did over the weekend apart from my little shapes for my blanket of which I made another half a dozen.

Did you do anything exciting over the weekend?
Mine was actually quite relaxing, most unusual!
Still I have a busy week this week, in work now till Friday then off before back in Saturday.
Have a good week.  Catch you soon.  x

Saturday, February 07, 2015

It's Saturday, time for some smiles, crafty style of course!

Good morning and how are you this Saturday?
I'm only in work for the morning today but whilst I am away it's time to share a few crafting funnies.
Is it just me or are all the lovely crafty rooms on Pinterest not a reality?  Mine has certainly never looked so organised and immaculate.

In fact I find this is my usual attitude to tidying my craft room.  It is so much easier!

Finally as sewing is in the headlines this week I am ending on this theme.

What could be wrong with that?
Personally I think it's a great idea.

Do you have plans this weekend?
Are you doing anything exciting?
I am hoping to enjoy my Saturday afternoon off work, maybe I will go out for lunch?
I might even get in a little crafting.

Have a good one and catch up with you again on Monday.  x

It's FFFriday, time to share an old crafting project.

Good morning all, and how are you this Friday?
It's that time of the week again, doesn't come around quickly?
Time to share an old crafting project with me, all just for fun and the love of sharing crafting.
Today I have a couple of projects for you and neither a card.
My first project is a calender.

For this I have used K & Co papers Berry Sweet and orange American craft textured card.  I have also used Spellbinder nestabilities Long classic rectangles and Long classic scalloped rectangles, labels 15, half moon circles (to make the flowers) and finally fancy tags.  Martha Stewart punch doily lace, pearls from K & Co and ribbon from stash.
The flowers were made cutting the circle dies into a spiral and then rolling back together tightly and the swirls were cut from one of the fancy tag dies.  On the back I attached a smaller rectangle of chipboard covered in paper so that the calender will stand.  The plastic pages are from a mini book set and the calenders can also be bought in packs.
The picture was from a royalty free photograph site on line as I have boys and I wanted a cute little girl.

My second share is these wee cuties.....

For these little shoes I have used K & Co Berry Sweet papers, aren't they cute!  Great to make with double sided papers and very easy to do.
You can find the template here.  Just perfect for a new baby instead of a card.

I would love it if you join me sharing an old craft project.  In order that I can see your work too please leave a comment below and I will visit you all, for a nosey!

It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the weekend.
My hubby has been away working all week so I have been home for the boys.  He used to always go away but this is the first time for ages.  I've quite enjoyed the peace and quiet......is that wrong?!
Tomorrow I'm back on work on a later shift and he has control at home, role changing!
Have a super weekend and if you get chance to craft, enjoy!  x

Are you excited.....GBSB starts again this evening, get out your needle and cotton!

Good afternoon all, how are you this Thursday?
You know you are having one of those days when the first thing you have programmed in for the day goes wrong!
My eldest has been going to the dentist at least every month since having his brace fitted.
Why do I tell you this?  Well, it leads into this mornings fun and games.
To me it just isn't normal going to the dentist every month at least once, I'm more a once every six months kind of gal.  It therefore goes without saying that, during busier times I have unfortunately missed a couple of key appointments even when the dates are highlighted on the family calendar.
How to remedy this problem, as it gets a little embarrassing having to ring up the dentist receptionist and apologise again.
Problem solved, I now put the dates on my phone and give myself constant reminder updates from the day before hand.
Get me.....efficient or what?
As long as I put the dates in my phone as soon as I get them I seem to be able to keep to them.
I guess I could be putting lots of other reminders on it too like birthday, bad at them too.
Anyway to cut a long story short I was at the dentist with my youngest this morning first thing only to find that it had been cancelled before Christmas as the work was done last visit.
Guess who didn't delete the phone message?!
The trouble about Christmas is that we are so busy at work, then there is everything going on at home to organise, I guess the receptionist didn't have my full attention!
I did make her laugh mind, turning up when I don't have an appointment.
As I said at the start, today can now only get better, I hope.
Still I had a nice ride out, the wee man was made up to have 1/2 hour extra off from school this morning too.

Back to today and are you excited?
Tonight brings the new series of The Great British Sewing Bee.  I for one can't wait to see the new sewing faces and challenges that will be set over the coming weeks.
My pictures today are along the same sort of theme.  I have been buying another bit of furniture.  A work colleague's sister was wanting rid of this little beauty and I though oooo I can do something with this.  Now do I alter it, do I paint and distress it or do I leave it be?
I haven't yet decided.

It's a wee sewing table and in very good condition too.

I love it but I just can't make up my mind what to do with it.  Decisions, decisions.

I also finished the wedding yesterday, only a few bespoke orders to do now and I might even get a few Valentine's cards sorted too.

Now before I get all crafty again I'm afraid the boring old housework has been neglected of late and unfortunately it is still there, boo, hiss.  I guess I better get busy with my duster and hoover.
Why is housework so boring, yet ever so satisfying after the event?

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday and don't forget to dig out an oldie to share with me tomorrow.  x

A rose by any other name! Hooking style.

Good morning and yes I've still got my craft on at the table, nearly there now only 20 invites and all RSVP's left.  I'm over the hill and heading back down the other side!

I had a lovely walk this morning with my BFF.  We used to walk the dogs together everyday before we both started working more hours, it is a rare treat to both get out together first thing.
Now for my daily weather update;  It wasn't as cold today and still no snow, it did try again yesterday afternoon but nothing has laid again.  :)

Whilst beavering away I wanted to share this....

Isn't this bookmark beautiful?
It is made by Samantha and you can catch the link here.
I might have to get this pattern as I think it will make a lovely gift with a book or book token (thinking teachers gifts or maybe Valentine gift for a lady who likes books, in red of course).

Maybe I am having crocheting withdrawals with all this card making!

Enjoy your Wednesday folks, busy night for me as both boys have drumming practise in different places.  I seem to remember when they were little refusing any sort of banging instruments and now they both play!  LOL.  Mind you I think I prefer the drums over the bagpipes just now, oh my they're so loud in the house.  Can you tell that they boys don't get their musical talent from Mum?
London's burning on the recorder was about my limit!

Have a super crafty Wednesday, more from me tomorrow.  x

It's cold outside, so lets shake the blues away with some sprinkles!

Good morning all, I thought I'd post before starting my production line this morning.  I had a break in the proceedings yesterday to make a card for my best pal.  I have used my Papertrey ink dies again for making a sprinkles card, gosh I love these dies.

And just my colours today too.  The photograph is not the best as it was taken in the dark, at this time of year it is only the shades of dark that varies!

I'm just back from my morning walk along the beach.  Brrrr, that north wind is certainly blowing today, the sea is wild......foaming at the mouth!
You think I am joking?
I went out looking like Bear Grylls this morning, layered up big time.  The only place that was cold was my face as I refuse to wear a balaclava, who wants to look like they're going to rob a bank?!
The foam was dashing along the beach from the sea like tumbleweed, great fun to chase if you are a dog.  Not a place to hold a foam party mind, it's certainly not bikini weather.  As my gran would have said, "you'd catch your death!"
How does that work?  Do you have mini Grim reapers floating around in bubbles just waiting for you to jump up and grab one?
The very idea.
Mind you my gran isn't far wrong, if you were down on the beach today in a bikini I'm sure within 15 minutes you'd be off to A and E with hypothermia.

Enough from me today, I'm away to grab a cup of tea and crack on with some more card making.
Have a super Tuesday and stay warm and cosy.  x

A busy little bee, beavering away in bling central!

Good afternoon all, not a great deal to share with you today as still mid flow with a Wedding.
Did you have a good weekend?
I had a good day at work on Saturday, a few unusual things to deal with but then it wouldn't be a Saturday without extras!  All the fun of the fair!
Sunday I had a good catch up with my crafty buddies and spent the time doing a little more sewing for a change.  I have come to the conclusion that I need more practise in this area, putting in a gathered sleeve to a dress on a small scale requires more ability.  Lucky for me I was sat either side of two qualified tailors, who thankfully kept me right.
Here's my little chap so far, I know I had not advanced much since I last posted but I have been keeping him to do at group because of the expertise should I get stuck.

I don't know why "Ding dong, the witch is dead" is going around in my head whilst posting this picture!
Yup, I think I am cracking up!

Just to prove I am being creative at the moment, but can not share, how much tape have I used today?

I've even taken over the dining table as my craft room is such a mess.  That is next on my to do list.  I know it is always on my to do list, I don't really know where to start!  Shutting the door and walking away seems to be my favourite trick!

Time for me to go and pick up the boys, enjoy the rest of your Monday evening.  We have chanter and bagpipe practise tonight and probably some homework too.  Catch you again tomorrow.
Happy crafting.  x
