A chip off the old block! Reuse and recycling time.

Good evening all, again, a bend of the knees in a police uniform required!
In answer to your question...yes just a little bit.
And the question......are you mad?!

This is what happens when you have a sick child at home and you should be working, stir crazy just about covers it.  I freely admit that I would make a terrible nurse.  I'm more of a crack on with it till you can't possibly, or die quietly, kind of person.  Still my wee man is a lot better than he was first thing and hopefully with a good nights rest and some more medicine he will be even better tomorrow.
I guess it's that time of year, back to school, germ bombardment!

Back to today and isn't it strange what gets you, dare I say, excited!
I'm going to now come across even weirder, if that is possible?!
I blame Pinterest.
In order to put the finishing touches to my kitchen, I have been looking for crates to put on one wall. Last week hubby was given these for me.

This one is my favourite.

Now all I need is about a dozen of them and I can finally get my finished look in the kitchen.
I haven't been able to get apple crates locally but I think these port cases would work equally as well.
This is the idea I am wanting to try for my wall, for all my cookbooks and jars.

Or something very similar.
I have my reuse, recycle head on!
What do you think?

That's all from me today I best go and put my nurses uniform back on!

Erika so sorry to read your wee man is not well. You are so right about the back to school bit. Here's hoping he will be a bit better tomorrow. Love your idea with the creates. Good luck in finding some more. Haxel x

Hi Erika,
what a super idea.
I love it.
This could work quite well easily in a craft room.
I am now on the look out for crates such as these for my craft room.
Thank you for sharing.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Wow! Erika I just LOVE the crate idea.
Oh! the "crafty stuff" that could be kept in there would be fantastic.
I could do with some of them in my Uility room to tidy up a few cook books (I never really use) jars of jam and such like.
Sorry to here about the wee lad hopefully he will feel better in the morning.
Hugs

Great idea! Methinks they now might be hard to find as all the papercrafters and quilters are going to be looking for them for there craft rooms!

Thanks for the comments on my RV post. Our first one was a pop up trailer...called a tent trailer over here. Our second was a 16 foot Scamper solid trailer...I loved that trailer...My girls were 2 and 3 years old when i bought it. We had so much fun in that one...i thought i had the world by the tail!
I remember being so delighted that i had hot water and a kitchen inside the trailer. We camped in bear country so that was important!!!

I hope your son is on the mend this morning, love the crates. Can you let us see the finished item please? I'm pretty sure Kirsti will love it as well.
