Happy Easter everyone.

It's been very quiet on here of late but I have been busy in the background.  Some days there are just not enough hours in the day to get everything done and something has to give, mind you as it is Easter I thought I'd pop over and just wish you all a

Happy Easter.

I've had a wee bit of time to make some felt Easter decorations.....this is our Easter tree, although I think my two kids are getting a bit big for this now.

My eldest decided not to do our usual egg hunt in the garden this year much to the delight of my youngest who now has double the treats!

The healthy eating plan has also gone out of the window this weekend, I'll be trouble at our club tomorrow night.  Boo!
Well, we can't be good all the time, can we.....where would be the fun in that?
I was baking on Friday for my son's coffee morning and it would be rude not to check them!
Then Easter at work Saturday with hot cross buns and cakes a plenty.  An added advantage of working in M & S.
On the good front I have had a wee walk at Speybay today, brrr it was cold, but have worked off some of my goodies.
Sunday dinner is brewing in the kitchen so better go and check it.

Don't forget to pop on over to It's a Creative World this weekend as we are holding a Easter crafting extravaganza.
I'll be back very soon....hoping to show you some sneaky peaks of what I will be making at the Craft retreat this coming weekend at the Papeterie in Aberdeen.

Oh I'd love one of these!  LOL.
I found it on Pinterest, a great addictive site, but you can get yours here.
What do you think?

I'm away to get my distressing inks out and stamps and have some inky fun.
Have a great "hump" day!

Busy little crafty bee!

So what have I been up to?
Yesterday I put together the first of my Spellbinder card classes for Aberdeen.
Today I have designed my Girlie Grunge class and my Spellbinder anything but a card class....on a roll.com!
And tomorrow...an inking card class and another Spellbinder card class.
Better get my thinking cap on!
I hope my mojo is as keen again tomorrow.

Hi folks and some exciting news this week.  We're back!!!  Or we will be very soon.

Over on It's a Creative World we have been having a wee break but we are making a come back posting creative ideas very soon.
Watch this space towards the end of the month for more details, now better get my thinking cap on.

So that is a busy week for me.  Still working on ideas for the up coming retreat in Aberdeen, another project in the pipe line I can't mention and the relaunch of It's a Creative World.....busy, busy, busy.
Better get my crafting head on then....maybe I'll just have a cuppa to get the inspiration flowing.

Enjoy your week.  x

Craft like no one is watching!

Back again, late today.  No crafting as yet but I have a lovely parcel just arrived with goodies to work with for the up coming retreat at Aberdeen next month....exciting.com!
Today I enjoyed a lovely walk with my pal Gill and her dog, what a mild day after all that snow and cold.  Is Spring on it's way?  Looking at the forecast for the next couple of days, I think not.  It doesn't bode well as I am on earlies at work tomorrow....lets hope the snow waits till later in the day.
I saw this today and it is similar to my all time favourite quote which is, "Dance like no one is watching!"
It did make me smile so I thought I'd share.

Can't do that at a demo or there would be something very wrong.  LOL.

Today I also had lunch out with my good pal Irene, a lovely time was had by all and I also got some great pressies from her recent travels.  Thank you so much Irene I love them.  x  Too kind.  Sending you even bigger hugs as I know the last couple of weeks have been hard.

So what do I have planned this weekend.  Busy, busy, busy.....working tomorrow and my oldest childs birthday, then a rugby tournament all day Sunday.  Nocraftingthisweekend.com!
Have a good time and I'll catch you back here next week.

It's not raining Cats and Dogs.

Oh well I missed what's on your work desk Wednesday again yesterday.
In my defence Wednesday is turning out to be one of my busiest days of the week just now.  Having said that yesterday was fun.  I did my usual food shop but then had a wee mooch around my local town.  I ended up with a few bargains for the house and family, one of which had me whooping with joy.  Why?  Well I haven't mentioned it much on here but last June I started my journey with a local Slimming World group...all that baking and sat on my bum crafting was finally taking it's toll.  I decided it was time to do something about it.
Yesterday's shopping trip was the cherry on the cake as I managed to get a pair of jeans 4 dress sizes smaller than last year and feeling great about it too.  With all that excitement and the usual music and Judo classes last night I didn't even venture into my craft room all day!  Shocking I know.  How will I cope?!

Today I have a bespoke card made this week for a friend who every year asks me to make her daughter a card.  It is usually a similar theme of "cats and dogs" so I have to remember what I've already done in the past.  This year I decided, for a change, to do her initial and add a couple of embellishments.
Here it is....

I do hope her daughter likes it.

That's all from me today I'm now away to work on my next Sugar bowl card ready for next months challenge as I have a lot of things to organise for the end of the month.
I also had an interesting telephone conversation yesterday about another possible project....but my lips are sealed on that front...at least for now!

Being creative means........

Still beavering away with ideas a plenty here.  Saw this notice the other day and it did make me smile so I thought I'd share.

How true is this?
House work can wait when there is creating a foot!
Have a great Tuesday.  x

Getting my crafting head on!

Hi folks after a busy Saturday at work.....how much food!  LOL.  Guess Mother's day on Sunday didn't help.  It was bonkers busy....if you can call it that so much so when I came home everything I had planned went out the window and I had a hot bath, tea and then threw myself at the sofa and chillaxed.
How was Mother's day for you?
I've come to the conclusion that some training needs to be undertaken here.  I got a lovely coat and some PJ's from my kids, although I believe that was hubby's doing!
Duties done on their part.
I had the usual ferry to a very cold session of rugby training then they disappeared with their friends to their bedrooms all afternoon.  Still I got a man mountain of ironing done and dusted whilst catching up on some TV I'd taped.
I wonder do the kids realise that as a parent you'd much rather they made you a cup of tea or tidied up after themselves for a day?!  We don't ask for much us mums, do we?  That would mean more to me that any present.
I think I need to change tactics at home and stop doing so much for them....the more you do the less they do.

Moving on today I am putting together some ideas for an event I am involved in through at the Papeterie at the beginning of next month.  I am designing 5 classes so better get my thinking cap on.
Whilst I am doing so I thought I'd share this sign I found recently on Facebook....and I wonder why my craft room is never tidy....this is so me.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!
Have a super Monday whatever you are up to.  x

Happy birthday to you!

Today it is my hubby's birthday so my crafting time is going to be spent in the kitchen baking cakes....some for him to take into work (lastminute.com) and best do a whooper for when he gets home.
This is going to be a difficult day as I love cake but am not eating it just now!  Wish me luck.
I'll pop back later with a picture.

A little bit late at getting this picture back to you but a busy weekend was had by all!
I did have to taste the cakes just to make sure they were ok, nomm!

Sugar bowl challenge 101....anything goes!

Hi folks and it's time for another Sugar bowl challenge, again this month we have no sketch, "anything goes" just remember your project must contain a Sugar Nellie stamp or digital image.
Here is my attempt.....

I have used digital image Annabel coloured with grey prisma pencils.  The Spellbinder dies are Classic circles and Labels Twenty four (I've used two frames and linked them together), together with A4 embossing folder dots (difficult to see in the photo).  The sentiment and die "For you" are by SU with ribbon and pearls from my stash.

Why not come and join us, you've got to be in it to win it!
On that note, a winner will be picked at random next month and the prize will be your choice of 4 Sugar Nellie stamps if under 100 entries, 6 if over.  You can enter as many times as you wish but just remember the Sugar Nellie image is needed to enter the draw.
It only remains for me to wish you the best of luck and I look forwards to seeing your creations.  x

What's on your Work desk this Wednesday, 196.

Hello, I've missed WOYWW the last few weeks.  Boy I've missed the bimble around all things crafty.  Why haven't I been?  I don't really have a great reason just cracking on with other bits and bobs that need doing, walking the pup, jobs around the house etc...  Nothing very exciting at all.  On the up note the cleaning of my craft room is getting better and I can now see both my computer desk and crafting desk....there is even floor space which has been swept too!  The mind boggles.  Don't believe me look at these desks.....

The beauty of tidying is that you find stash you have yet to play with.  Today when I've done my housework I intend to have a play with these Stamping up goodies.  The MS punch I was using yesterday and Tim's flower die has been used in an earlier project on my blog but I'm keeping it out just in case I have another go at his present Tattered Floral challenge.
My computer desk....

Copic markers at the ready in the corner next to my small Archival pad plus a cup of tea which I'm tucking into whilst writing this.  Across the other side my phone, just in case someone tries to get hold of me in it's gorjuss case.

Why not visit our lovely hostess with the mostess....Julia...here for more details and desks.  I'll be back later this afternoon for a hop about.

Later today hubby is taking me out for lunch as it was our Anniversary at the weekend.  With him away last week, working nights at the weekend plus I was working too.....we had no time to play.com!

I'll be back tomorrow with our next Sugar bowl challenge for you.
Have a great Wednesday and thanks for popping by.  x

Mother's day clean and simple style.

Today I have been getting on top of a few cards, I've been doing my Mother's day cards when I should have really been doing the housework, boo.  I think I made the right choice, don't you?
Crafting is so much more fun.

The papers I have used are from K & Company Classic K, the stamps are by Hero art Layered flowers and the Martha Stewart punch is Blossom eyelets.
I guess now I better go and do the housework, that is unless I can find something better to do!

Hopeman crop

Yesterday we had our Hopeman crop, a good afternoon crafting and eating cake was had by all.  There were a few familar faces missing this crop with other events occurring, hopefully we'll see you next month.

Look at them all beavering away!

We had fun with live entertainment as the Elgin pipe band were practising in the main hall whilst we were in the back, a truely Scottish experience crafting to the bagpipes.  I'm sure anywhere else you'll pay good money for such entertainment but by teatime the excitement had worn off, LOL.  I'm just very glad that they played very well as listening to strangled cats all afternoon would have been painful!

I had a productive day making 12 cards and starting a mini book kit I've had for ages.  12 cards is good going for me, mind you apart from my next Sugar bowl challenge coming soon, CAS was the order of the day.

And now for something a little different! Sewing time.

It's Saturday and today I was on earlies at work and finished at lunch.  It is lovely to get home and have the rest of the afternoon and evening but I still have fun getting up at 5 a.m.  I'm not a morning person but can see the advantage....no traffic on the road and the pick of parking spots plus the added advantage of going home early.
Today I am sharing with you a brooch I made for a friend at work.  I made myself one last year and she had admired it and asked if I would make one for her.  Now I'm not great at doing things on a time scale but if I promise, I do deliver.....if some what late.  In my defence my craft room has been in such a muddle I was having trouble locating my felt and the pattern I had made.

I did think I would make some of these for November and Remembrance Day to raise funds for the British Legion but I think I need to come up with a simpler pattern, maybe just two layers of petals?
I love all the individual layers but I couldn't sit and rattle them off like the one above, it would take to long especially when raising funds for charity.

It's our local crop tomorrow at the village hall in Hopeman, where like minded crafters get together for the afternoon and play....sorry craft....away from the family.  Lots of tea and cake plus a wee bit of crafting, no better way to spend a Sunday afternoon.  If you are local and craft leave me a comment today and your contact details for more information, we usually meet once a month.
The more the merrier!
It only remains for me to wish you all the best for the weekend.  I will try and take my camera tomorrow so I can share with you photo's of what we get up to at a crop.
