A little sugar to sweeten the weekend, sharing an oldie this Friday.

Oh whoops again I missed a post yesterday, in my defence I was traumatised.  Why I hear you ask?
Our schools go back next week so yesterday was pop out and get the last of the uniform, stationary and shoes.  This process I do feel should come with a health warning or at least a stiff drink as you leave the shops.  :0
For a start my eldest has gone up at least two full shoe sizes in 6 weeks, I have bought quite a few pairs of shoes for him in that time #bankofmumanddad.
My youngest tried what felt like every pair of shoes in the shop and the only pair that fit corrected were the most expensive!  (Takes after his mother!)
Not to mention the bickering and "winding up" all the way round, that is brotherly love.  Argh!
I don't think I am alone either in hating this process, so many other families out enjoying the same joys!  Lol.
On the up side my hallway is finished and looking very swish for a new lick of paint.  I am now just looking for a piece of furniture that I can up cycle for on my landing.  I would like a couple of chests or an old 70's style sideboard, low and long, to house my bedding and towels.  A visit to the auctions on Wednesday will be a must.  I shall know what I want when I see it.

Anyway back to today and it's "Share an oldie Friday!"
Firstly thanks to those of you who have started to join in with the fun.  It's great to see other peoples early work so don't forget to leave a message below and link here so that I can return the crafty love.
Today's card is one I created whilst on the Sugar Bowl design team.

I have used the digital image from Sugar Nellie called Summer.
The papers are from My Minds Eye Stella and Rose, Mabel "Little lady" fine flowers.
The dies I have used are Spellbinder Nestabilities Long Classic Scalloped rectangle large and Tim Holtz Tattered Florals.
Ranger Distress ink Tea die and stickles star dust.
Doilies, brads, pearls and bead spacers from stash and image coloured with copics.

I love these digital images as they are so easy to colour already having light and shade on them. Not a usual colour combo for me with the peachy orange and teal but I like it.

I'm in work early tomorrow and I wonder what fun and games we will have this week?  I shall have to wait and see.  One thing will be sure and that is it will be busy and the day will pass fast.
Then on Sunday I am getting together with some crafty pals for a bit of fun.  I don't know what I will be doing as yet, so many projects, so little time.  I bought material in the States to make a doggy quilt for Holly, might do that or I have my Smash book and photos at the ready, guess it will depend what mood I am in.  I'm also crocheting a few more dishcloths just now.  Guess it will be a watch this space as no doubt I will share with you over the coming weeks.
It only remains for me to wish you all the very best for the coming weekend, whatever your plans.  x

Erika haven't these holidays gone quick? Or is it just me. Oh I feel for your in the children feet department, Anna 12 yrs size 8, and she doesn't like any that are in her size looks like she will be going in her DMs. Beth little narrow feet and oh boy she is a nightmare to get for. Still sewing on tags here will tell mum she has to buy iron next time.
You should look on the blog of a friend of Anna's mum. Vintage bespoke furniture, fife. She what she has done with very old pieces of furniture. They look even better in real life. Hope work isn't to bad. Hazel xx

Congrats on getting the hall finished up. Repurposed dressers or a sideboard sounds like a fabulous storage solution!

Bet you find something nice. My daughter has a dresser in her front hallway. She painted it antique silver. A satin finish and looks like Mercury Glass. It looks lovely there and she also sprayed a huge initial for their last name and set it on top. There is a lovely piccie of the lifeboats at Filey hanging beside it. IT has a silver frame and they all look good together!
I am wandering I know, but hers holds all the dogs gear...and anything that she is keeping by the door to give to someone.

I used to hate the days of school uniform/shoes/pens/pencils etc buying but now my boy has grown up I sort of miss it!

I remember very well when I first saw this card when we were on the Sugar Bowl together, I loved it then and I love it still.
The colour combo is gorgeous!!
Hope you had fun weekend.

Big hugs
