Ho, ho, ho! Where have I been?

Did you miss me, bet you didn't.  Sorry for being MIA the last couple of days, deadlines to meet and jobs to do.
Monday and Tuesday I had my children off school for in-service days so that kept me busy with other things.
On Wednesday I had a lovely day out with my pal Irene, we went to Inverness and did some Christmas shopping.  I got some stocking fillers for my family and it would of been rude not to visit the local crafty shops too.  I shall share my purchases with you next week as the lighting today is very poor.  It is another dreich and dreary day with no blue sky at all out my window and there is a definite nip in the air.  Brr!  Winter is coming.

Today I am sharing a topper I made a while ago with a Christmassie feel as I chomp my way through an M & S mince pie with my cup of tea, nomm!
The being good on the food front has gone out of the window of late and the more I think about getting on track the more mince pies I seem to scoff!
I just love the food at this time off year, the cakes and the cheeses together with the mulled wine and spirits....all really should be out of bounds......but where would be the fun in that?!  What I need to really do is go and light the fire and get my making head on as all these Christmas presents and cards need making.  How are you getting on?
Are you super organised and have everything ready?
I'm not.....last minute.com here.
I do get there eventually mind you, not that it really matters this year as my hubby is working Christmas we have no visitors coming.  I think Christmas day will be a quiet affair, the kids will play and not want to do anything else so I might get to craft!
We're having our Christmas day on Boxing day instead.  Although I'll still probably cook all the usual on the day just on a smaller scale.

Here's a Santa......distressed style.

I have used Christmas miracle by Tim and Hero arts dots, vintage photo ink, glimmer mist gold, liquid pearl white and bling.
I love a vintage Christmas feel, don't you?

I've got a couple of bespoke cards to make this afternoon and then I better get myself organised for another early morning in work tomorrow.  Have a super weekend all and stay warm and cosy.  x

Hi Erika, love the distessed Santa look, lovely image and design.
Dark and gloomy here today, no brightness at all.

Well I gave in and sent for Dell inks which arrived this afternoon, and my print is fine now. that's taught me a lesson. Have a good weekend, hugs Kate x

This is so vintagey lovely...Wonderful Santa and I love the way you have done him up! That little bit of sparkle looks fabulous.

Heavy frost sparkling everywhere here yet the sun is shining. Good thing as I had a camera problem for about a month (fixed now) and I want to retakeall those blog photos and switch them out of the posts...Perfect day to do it.
We are having our Christmas on Boxing Day too. We plan Christmas around a rotating calendar depending on whose year it is to have our married daughter and her family. It is our year but her MIL has family from out of town so we have donated our year so their family can be together.
Sometimes we just go out to a fancy restaurant as it still seems like Christmas then! I then just do Boxing Day just like it was Christmas Day...I just move the menu's forward...lol

Brilliant topper I love the vintage effect you have created.
I really must make a start on my Christmas Cards. Teaching the class, all they have been doing are Christmas Cards I am truly sick of seening them.......!!!
Thick snow on the hill I see out my kitchen window, hope it stays on the hills for a while yet.
Time has evaded me these past days, I have not had a minute to do any crafting.
Boys here for a sleepover so no chance till they go home. Off with Hazel all day Sunday then we will be staring yet another week.

Patricia. Xxxx
