What's on your Workdesk 189

It's that time of the week again, hump day!
What's on my work desk today.....well to be honest, nothing as I got a call from work yesterday asking me in for extra hours so whilst you read this I will be beavering away there instead.
I did however mention that I was starting a new hobby didn't I?

Here it is.....it is something that my mum is very good at but unfortunately lives too far away to show me so I have bought some cotton and a hook and the first attempt will be a dish cloth.  I have a vague memory of these from school but can't honestly remember if I made one, I think I did cross stitch instead.
Wish me luck for this evening I'm off to search You Tube for my first lesson!

Have a super Wednesday I hope to get back to the computer later this evening to catch up with what everyone has been up to.
You can follow the crafty goings on today over on the lovely Julia's blog, who hosts this marvellous weekly event.

Before I go I thought I'd leave you with a wee update on the pup...she is doing well and her favourite place is keeping an eye on the fire!

Happy crafting.

  1. Good luck with the crocheting - I'm useless with anything fabric-y or needlework-y or knitting-y, so am in huge admiration of anyone who can do it at all!! Cutest puppy pic... Happy WOYWW!

  12. Good luck with the crochet dishcloth Erika. People think crocheting is difficult but it's really easy and very portable.

Laughing at the pup. Dogs do like to be warm don't they? Our two like to lie right in front of the radiator at night. Not much heat comes past two great big lumps of Labradors!!

  16. Good Luck with your crochet lessons, several people have tried to teach me and given me up as hopeless case- I can knit a bit though! Thanks for your visit, Les Mis was brilliant, Hugh Jackman - amazing! Chris@89

  17. Have lots of fun with your crochet. My aunt taught me to knit, and would not let me take my fingers off the needles so I can be quite fast. I taught myself crochet from a book and again the key seems to be to hold the wool correctly to get your tension right. I am looking forward to seeing the results of your work there. Your pup definitely has the right idea, snoozing in front of the fire. thank you for you visit today. have a good week. xx Maggie #37

  18. Crochet is fun! Well done for taking it up. My grandmother taught me when I was quite small. Love the little puppy - like our kitties, not backward in coming forward when there's warmth to be had! He's adorable.

Thanks for your lovely comment about my zentangles. I posted that post immediately after my Zentangle post which most people seem to be missing, so if you want to see the horrendous mess I made this week, hop back and scroll down! I've now added a note to the zentangle post so none of my WOYWW friends miss out on the action!!

    Happy belated WOYWW,
