If you are like me and you have a little time to kill because a cut and blow dry is no longer enough....a wee bit of colour goes a long way, know what I mean?
Don't get me wrong I usually enjoy the chat, the magazines (especially the House magazines....how we'd all like our homes to really look!) and I have even been known to take a book. This time I decided to take a little bit of crocheting with me.
Is that wrong?
Why not be productive with your spare time?
Anyway this is what I made, a new useful item, yes you've guessed I can't get away from dishcloths!
I do enjoy making these. I know I should move on and try harder patterns but sometimes it's just nice to switch off but keep busy....if you know what I mean?!
So have you had a good Bank holiday weekend so far?
I saw this on Facebook and had to share it because I have had much fun this weekend, not, and this pretty much sums up why.

With my kids it's the X box.
Are we bad to want them to go out, play and socialise like we did?
As a child I was never in, a right tom boy, climbing trees and making dens, only going home at a set time, usually either if it got dark or we were hungry.
I was out with friends for a drink on Saturday night, not something I do very often nowadays and couldn't believe how many folk were on their phones rather than chatting to friends. Now don't get me wrong, I do have a weakness for a couple of sites and I do love my mobile but I totally agree with this young man......we should all look up during the day and go and do something more productive too.
Why is it so easy to get hooked, I can see the appeal but I can also see the dangers.
What do you think?
Do you think Einstein had a point?
A bit deep and dark from me today but as a mother of two boys it does concern me as to what the future holds for them. Now I've bent your ears I'm away to look up and try and get a couple of boys unplugged!
Does blogging count? :o
It only remains for me to wish you all the best for this Bank holiday Monday, have fun looking up too. x

Erika good use of your time making a useful item, as for the other bit yes it worries me greatly what it's doing to the young ones, but more so to many folk are not talking to each other apart from via their Facebook pages. When they can actually talk directly to them. Yes we blog etc. but I need and do talk to people too. Hazel xx
Fab way to spend your time at the hairdressers, I normally read a book or do a jigsaw on my ipad ... you are right though this is far more productive!! Hugs Juls
Great dishcloth. Little Miss C has learned how to make them and has finished three of them...they are a wee bit crocked cuz she sometimes drops a stitch and forgets to count them but Hey Ho...they are sweet cuz they are made from the heart!
I am sure you feel the same about yours...except looks like you count your stitches as yours look straight!!!
Hi Erika, well I think this piece of crochet is far too lovely to be a dishcloth.
I agree with you and Hazel, youngsters are too much on these gadgets nowadays, I fear they are missing face to face interaction, but it's a sign of the times, hugs Kate x
It'll soon be everyone will be skyping while sitting next to each other.I like to get Louis off his Ipad and outside. Good for you crocheting at the hairdressers.I would if I could.xx
Yep. I agree. And I'm totally guilty of it too!
And the boys are glued to the X Box.... oh dear!!
