It's all so quiet shhhh, shhhh, shhh!

It's all so still, shhhh, shhh, shhhh!
Not really
but busy beavering away here making up cards,
getting ready for a Hopity hop.
Not to mention a demonstration this coming Saturday 3rd September in Elgin, Papercraft's Boutique.
Where we will have some fabulous treats in store.
As always Karen has some great "special deals" for Saturday
and if this time last year is anything to go by similar offers had sold out by lunchtime.
Mmmmmm what could it be?!

Anyway I better crack on...
I hope you have all had a lovely Bank holiday Monday and "happy crafting!"

Sugar Bowl challenge time no.66

It's that time again,
I'm sure the weeks keep getting faster.
Today we are working with Marlene's beautiful sketch and something "girlie".
Here's my take:

And the sketch:

I have used City Girl from the Simply Sassy range at Sugar Nellie with my copic markers.
The papers are from Tilda Paper Stack Springtime plus red card stock.
My die cut is Spellbinder Nestabilities big scalloped circle.
Finally, I have also used my sewing machine, pearls and rub ons from my stash.

I so love these Tilda papers
and so very now with the whole shabby chic trend.
I've kept my card simple this challenge
mainly because I just wanted the papers and the stamp to stand out.

Up for grabs in the way of prizes are four of your choice
from the range of Sugar Nellie rubber stamps.
If there are more than 100 entries this goes up to a choice of six.
You've got to be in it to win it!

I would also like to mention the "sneaky peaks" that are starting...
"squeal"  (especially for Ali)
These are the brand new range coming soon from
(1st September)

Why not pop on over the the Sugar Nellie blog and check out who is sneaking a peek today...
You'll love them.
I do.

WOYWW 116

Oh my, not desk time again....well, I have warned you.
Guess what?
It's a bit of a muddle again this week.

I just can't be creative and tidy!
After a day of making a few cards for friends and new baby girls I decided today to carry on and make a wee bit of stock.
I love this wee stamp from Sugar Nellie Baby bunny especially for baby cards, so cute.
As yet I haven't got any papers out but my little stash of white ribbons are there...decisions, decisions....
Not really a very exciting desk today just in need of a really good tidy up.
Check out other desks over on Julia's blog.
Hopefully you may find another messy one like mine!

Oh before I forget............

Not long now....1 sleep!
Don't forget to go and have a wee lookie on the Sugar Nellie blog for the new releases...you won't be disappointed.

Less is more!

Today I have mostly been making baby girl cards
but I decided to have a wee play once finished at the
Less is More challenge which this week is "Things that move".
Here is my simple take on the theme.

I love these challenges as I always have to stop myself from taking the card a step further
so it is a real challenge keeping things very simple.
For this card I have used stamps by Marion Emberson Birthday kisses, AC textured card, black StazOn, MS deep edge punch blossom eyelets and a wee bit of bling.

It's nearly time......

Oh my, we're nearly there now....not long to go.
You're in for a treat.
I think I'm not the only one who's bank balance will take a hit on release date.
Rubber-tastic!
Showing soon at Sugar Nellie.

It's getting closer!

It's nearly here, yummy new rubber to view....oh and you are not going to be disappointed.
I think this is the best range yet!

Today I'm going to be visiting my PI boss at the House of Sugar to find out what products I am going to be demonstrating in my next event at Papercraft's Boutique on the 3rd of September.
I wonder?!!*
What will it be?
Will it be Christmas?!
We will have to wait and see.
(Me included as I don't know what it will be)

Now I should really get on and do some lovely housework to bring me back down to earth with a big bang!
Boo.
It is the first day I have had both my kids back to school after the summer holidays,
the place could do with a real good sort out....if only it was more exciting!
Maybe I will just hide in my craft room instead...no one will notice..shhh!

Sugar Nellie Showcase Sunday

This week the lovely and very talented Elaine asked me to be on the Sugar Nellie Showcase Sunday slot.
I was very surprised to be asked and of course said yes please I'd love to be, who wouldn't?
So this is my card and yes it's Christmas time in August.  Ho, ho ho!

For this card I have used:
Paper Crafts House Plum Pudding Mince pies, Selection box and Egg Nog, plus red card stock.
Spellbinder nestabilities classic rectangles large and scalloped.
Sugar Nellie stamp Santa with tree.
Rub on Scenic Route Christmas dreams.
Red elastic cord, bell and bling from stash.
Coloured with copics, Distress ink vintage photo, Star dust Stickles and Glossy accents.

I love this stamp, to me this is what Christmas is all about,
a traditionalist at heart, it has to be red and green with Santa.
Talking of Santa we were watching TV last night and the chance of winning a holiday came up.
I said to my Hubby I would rather take the boys to Lapland than have that holiday,
at which my youngest piped up, "why?"
So I said, "To take you to see Santa at his home."
His reply, "Oh, mummy I don't need to do that, remember I saw him last year at the Garden centre!"
LOL.  Guess we won't be doing Lapland then!
He was a very good Santa at the Garden centre as he told the boys they needed to make mum and dad breakfast in bed.
More surprisingly for me is that the kids actually did do breakfast the next morning!
Thanks Santa. x

Before I go I just wanted to let you know that we have another up and coming blog hop with some fabulous new stamps from Sugar Nellie.
If you loved the last lot.....
well, what can I say...they're fab...
my favourites so far.
I'm sure any Sugar addicts out there will love them too.

Well that's all from me today, hope you are all having a lovely crafty Sunday.
Thanks for coming over.

WOYWW

It's that time again, "what's on your work desk Wednesday".
Doesn't it come around fast?!

This week I am making a Christmas card and if you watch this space you should see the end result later in the week.
I also have a few finished samples of demo cards to send to my PI boss.
The a couple more of my whisky cards to finish off.
Why not pop on over to Julia's blog the Stamping Ground and see what other like minded crafter's are up to.
Having just had a weekend away I also have lots of boring housework to do like an iron mountain....
why does that always happen when you've been away?
Is it the punishment, don't you think, for having a few days off?!
Boo!
I'd much rather be crafting.

In more detail!

As you can see from the cards in my previous post I have re-jigged them from a class I did earlier, 'cause I just loved the papers and stamps
...and I can!
LOL.
I also made a wee tag which was very simple to do but today I wanted to show you the canvas and brooch in more detail.

The framed canvas was purchased from my "local craft shop for local people!"  Actually it is also the home of Sugar Nellie stamps but is known locally as Papercraft's Boutique.
I have used teal acrylic paint on the frame then Ranger distress crackle paint Picket fence.
I also sanded it a wee bit as I wanted it to look really old and distressed, then I inked lightly with Distress ink Vintage photo and sealed with Inkssentials Glue 'n' Seal.
On the canvas I covered with Distress stain Broken china then edged with Vintage photo too.
The papers I have used as mentioned in earlier posts are from My Mind's eye Stella and Rose range.
The stamps are Hero Arts Whimsical House and Finding joy.
I have also used some Ranger glossy accents to finish.

For the brooch I have used Tim Holtz textured grungeboard followed by Distress stain Broken china to which I added Perfect pearls Blue raspberry and Sour apple.
The flower is from Hero Arts stamps Layered flowers.
I have added jewellery spaces and beads with fine wire which I twisted and threaded through the flower and attached to a pin on the back.
I also distressed the edges with Vintage photo ink.
With both items I used StazOn jet black ink.

At the moment I am just finishing off  working with some of my whisky cards but I hope to be back with more crafting in the next couple of days.
One child back to school today and the other next week.  Whoop!
As the summer holidays come to an end I am left wondering
"did I miss all the good weather"
Or is it just me?

QVC demo

Do you want to see what I took with me to demo at QVC?
Maybe, I hear you cry.
Today I am just giving you an overview as I am spending this weekend with my family
....before life returns to normality next week and school returns.
Whoop, whoop!
I will show you in more detail next week.

I have used a range of products
the stamps are by Hero Arts and the papers by My Minds Eye.
More details to come next week....
Plus maybe some more candy in need of re homing.
Meanwhile I am praying for a couple of days of sunshine!

Sugar bowl challenge 65

Where does the time go?
I can't believe that's us round again already
especially when we had an extra couple of weeks holiday too.
On to the challenge for the next fortnight and this sketch is by the wonderful Maria Theresa
with the challenge "blue".
Here is my take:

I thought it was about time I dusted down Amelia from the Simply Sassy range at Sugar Nellie.
She is coloured with copics.
The paper is from My Minds Eye Good day Sunshine girl "Head in the Clouds"
with SU textured card Cookie crumble and Baja Breeze.
Martha Stewart punch scalloped dots.
Tim Holtz Alterations texture fades Steampunk embossing folder, vintage photo distress ink and
Ideaology Adage tickets.
Lace, twill, brads and world pin from my stash.
And the sketch:

Up for grabs this time
or should I say the prize is 4 Sugar Nellie stamps of your choice,
rising to 6 for over 100 entries.
I must also mention,
and you know who you are,
the SN facebook ladies who have made multiple cards for the last challenge
raising the prize on offer.
Yaah!
Lots of lovely cards over on the Sugar Bowl

so why not pop on over and take a look.

Also I would like to mention that Sugar Nellie are looking for new members for their Design Team,
see below:

If you love your Sugar Nellie stamps why not give it a go....you've got to be in it to win it!

Finally I would just like to thank everyone who has taken the time to write such lovely comments
both on here and my facebook page yesterday,
I really appreciate all of them
and look forwards to exciting times ahead!
"Happy crafting!"

WOYWW

First, I have a wee secret that only a few of my closest buddies knew about and were sworn to secrecy.
Yesterday I was AWOL....
and I have been quiet on here of late.
That usually means I'm up to something
and I was.

I went to London to visit the Q.......
no not the Queen
but I was here instead:

I was at QVC for a screen test as a guest craft designer, "oh my"!
Can you believe it?
Me neither.
I had to pinch myself.
I had a fair bit of travelling to do and a long day in store but
I had a fabulous time,
everyone at the channel were very friendly making me feel at ease and welcome.
I met the lovely Julian Ballantyne who was so kind,
we had a lovely chat and I even got a hug too!
I was asked to showcase a crafting product with samples then was filmed with Julian discussing it.
And guess what?
I passed!
So now it's a case of watching this space......
How excited am I?
Well maybe just a little.

But what you really want to know is what is on my work desk today....

The whiskey has arrived so I have a local order to complete.
Some samples for my boss at Personal Impressions from my last demo in Inverness,
I know better late than never.
I also had a lovely surprise in the post too...then new Hero Arts Christmas rubber stamps...
mmmmm....oh so many yummy one's...
"heaven I'm in heaven!"
(I have to say it's a good job you don't have sound,
me singing, ain't good!)
Why not pop over to Julia on the Stamping Ground and see what everyone else is up to?

Finally I would like to thank the staff at PI especially Jan and Jayne for all their assistance of late.
I'd like to thank Dave via the lovely Cathy, for all his help and guidance to the best travel around London.
Lastly thanks to all the staff at QVC for making me feel so at home.
Let the crafting commence...bring it on!

I am still here but am working on a top secret project
that hopefully I can share with you later next week.

I am also still waiting for my whiskey!

I have been crafting like mad just lately and hope to show you what I have been up to soon.

I have also been stocking up on my shop
"less is more"
cards whilst on a quiet spell before the mad Christmas rush.

So how has your weekend been?
Up here in the North of Scotland the weather has been
in one word
"pants"
especially today as it has poured down consistently all day.
Still with that in mind my ironing is up to date and I've had some quality craft time.
Mind you Mr X box has been working far to hard too today and I can feel a day of fresh air on the horizon tomorrow....lets hope for some sunshine.

 365 day calender.

Oh well, I'm late again!
Only a few days.
As you already know I am following The Kathryn Wheel calender challenge this year, you can see what everyone else is up to on Kate's blog.
It is really worth a look as there are so many different variations on the theme and some fantastic work.
Here's my attempt for this month.

For  August I wanted to get a feel for all that time we would be spending down on our local beach, by the hutties (as they're known here), relaxing with my feet in the sand!
Yer right!
Up to now the weather hasn't been great up here in the North of Scotland this month,
but I believe the south of England is getting "summer", LOL.

Anyway I have used paper that looks like sand, sand paper and red/blue gingham all from my stash.
The alphabet stickers are from Doodlebug.
Distress ink antique linen.
Stamps from Stampendous, Anita's and Stamp it.

Maybe our summer will start when the kids go back to school in just under a fortnights time.
Whoo hoo!

And to last months now completed gala month.

I'm amazed that I've actually kept up with this challenge,
still the real challenge will be keeping up in September and October when my demo dates are in full flow running up to Christmas....ho, ho,ho...
Can't wait to see what I will be playing with this year.  :)

WOYWW

It's that time of the week again when we look at every one's work desks.
What is on mine today?
Well, I think a real good tidy up before I start my next project, don't you think?

And this is tidier than normal, LOL.
I really should learn to tidy up after each project instead of just moving to one side, far to busy crafting to tidy.....where's the fun in that!

Why not pop over to Julia's blog and see what everyone else is up to.
I have two projects to finish this week and one is a secret!
For now anyway.
The other I am waiting for a delivery of whiskey for and was hoping they'd be here today.
The postman has been and it didn't arrive, boo!
At this rate I won't hit my deadline on Friday.

Before I go are we up for another bit of candy?
Mmmm what next.
Keep an eye out as I think next week I shall be posting some more for you.

Molly blooms in the Sunshine!

On a recent visit to my parents I happened upon The Paperlane.
Whilst in the beautiful shop I just had to have a rubber fix, as you do!
Here's a little something I made, well not actually little as it is an 8" twisted easel.

I have used:
Molly Blooms MB-0135H, MB-0140N and MB-0139D.
Stampendous clingrubber "Sand"
Spellbinder nestabilities label 14
Paper My Minds Eye Good day Sunshine and sand paper.
Coloured with copics, scrabble tiles from stash and glossy accents to highlight.

I really enjoyed creating this card, lots of layering 3D and plenty of colouring too.
I also picked up a 2nd in the local gala with it.
I think I can also add I am now a convert of Molly Blooms and can't wait till my next journey south!

I shall be entering this into The Paperlane Challenge "Shades of Sunshine".
